Mitsubishi Motors PH confirms Destinator arrival

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has confirmed the arrival of the much-awaited addition to its lineup, the Destinator.

The introduction of the aforementioned midsize sport utility vehicle to the local market is scheduled on November 20 — just months after the nameplate had its global debut in Indonesia.

In a statement, the company shared that the all-new Destinator will introduce bold new styling, advanced safety features, and premium comfort that meets the evolving needs of Filipino families.

While it did not provide details about the upcoming vehicle’s specifications, MMPC noted that the public launch will be held at Ring Garden, Ayala Malls Manila Bay — with a simultaneous vehicle display and test drive activity on November 20-23 at ASEANA Concert Grounds, Pasay City.

Prior to carrying its production name, Mitsubishi had the vehicle’s global premiere in the Philippines by way of the DST Concept, which was first seen at the 9th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).

Possible specifications

Based on the documents that the Land Transportation Office earlier released, the vehicle will come in two variants namely GLS and GT.

Both options will be equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a continuous variable transmission, which allows it to go as fast 180 kilometers per hour.
