Nissan Terra bags 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating

MANILA: With a total score of 83.17, the Nissan Terra has achieved a 5-star safety rating in the ASEAN NCAP testing. The SUV from the Japanese manufacturer displayed a brilliant performance during the testing thanks to the multiple active and passive safety features onboard.

Talking about a front impact, the driver and co-passenger were found well protected in the adult occupant protection (AOP) test. Barring a few minor injuries on the chest and lower legs, the leg and head protection was great. In the side impact, the head and chest were well secured and there were no severe injuries. A total of 44.70 points were scored by the Terra.

The Nissan Terra scored 24.00 points in child occupant protection (COP) test. Both the 18-month and 3-year-old children were found to be safe and secured during the testing. Thanks to the safety features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, reverse parking sensors and stability control, blind spot warning, hill start assist, hill descent control, and lane departure warning the SUV received a perfect 5-star rating from the ASEAN NCAP.

This is another positive impact that the NCAP initiative had made and we hope there will be continuous effort from all manufacturers to produce such cars for the ASEAN region with high crashworthiness performance and equip them with crash avoidance technologies that could save people’s lives”.
