Subaru Forester Ultimate Customized Kit Special edition creates a stir

MANILA: Automakers try hard to gain attention at various auto shows by displaying new, facelifted, and most importantly, special edition models. Similarly, Subaru stacked its booth with the Forester Ultimate Customized Kit Special edition alongside the Forester e-Boxer, Forester GT Edition, renewed Impreza, and the Viziv Adrenaline Concept at the 2020 Singapore Motor Show. While all of the models were doing fine during the show, the Subaru Forester Ultimate Customized Kit Special edition managed to turn a whole lot more heads and grab eyeballs aplenty.

The reason behind the much recognition grabbed by the Subaru Forester Ultimate Customized Kit Special edition was nothing but its name. As soon as we look at the abbreviation of the title Forester Ultimate Customized Kit Special edition, that is, Subaru F.U.C.K.S. edition, things get quirky, funny, and even vulgar for some. Just like the title, the car is just as unique and striking.

Starting with the exterior, the Subaru Forester Ultimate Customized Kit Special edition comes dipped in a blue finish and flaunts an array of red lines and accents. The car rides on 20-inch Enkei wheels wrapped in low-profile tyres. Moreover, both the headlamps and the taillamps sport a blackened appearance.

The interior is also quite sporty and attractive thanks to the dark treatment complemented by red accents, contrast stitching, leather upholstery, blue footwell lighting, soft-touch material trim pieces, and a large touchscreen infotainment system that is bolstered by the likes of Focal amplifiers, LCD monitors for rear passengers, numerous speakers, and a subwoofer.

Coming back to the abbreviation that created a jolt over the internet, Subaru was quick to remove any sort of title banners or badging present near the car at the show. Also, the automaker came forward to apologise to those who might have felt offended or simply did not like the title/abbreviation much.

"We apologize for any negative feedback this may have caused. [Subaru> has had the name removed from the car at the Singapore Auto Show. We work very hard to build a strong brand image for this company and the naming of this vehicle in no way reflects the values and standards we hold true. Furthermore, we will always do our best to protect our brand’s integrity. It goes without saying that this car will not be available in the United States market", read the leaked letter published by The Drive.

So, with the car now having lost the title "Forester Ultimate Customized Kit Special edition", it remains to be seen what new name it gets from the automaker.
