TMP Foundation donates Toyota Tamaraw units to City of Santa Rosa

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) Foundation has donated a pair of Tamaraw Utility Vans and one Ambulance unit to the City Government of Santa Rosa.

Per TMP’s corporate social responsibility arm, the two utility vehicles were both handed over to the Santa Rosa City Health Offices I and II, while the ambulance was given to the Santa Rosa Community Hospital.

The said donations were part of TMP Foundation’s new program “Mobility with Care,” which is aimed at enhancing the basic health care services of local areas.

“This donation exemplifies Toyota’s continuing commitment to support the City of Santa Rosa in its efforts to further enhance healthcare services for its constituents,” TMP Foundation president Jose Maria Aligada was quoted as saying.

TMP Foundation signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the City Government of Santa Rosa to formalize the vehicle donation and its purposes.

Earlier this month, TMP Foundation donated a brand-new Toyota Hiace unit to the City Government of Batangas, which will serve as a health service vehicle of the Batangas City Health Office.

Toyota Tamaraw as a cornerstone of public service

This is not the first time the Toyota Tamaraw has been handed over to government offices to play roles as public service vehicles. 

Sometime in April, TMP donated a Toyota Tamaraw to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to help the agency with its Tamaraw Conservation Program. In addition, TMP also gave the department over P500,000 worth of “Bantay Tamaraw Kits” made up of mountaineering gears, equipment, and tools on behalf of the Bantay Tamaraw Rangers.

In July, TMP used the Toyota Tamaraw as shuttles for Philippine General Hospital (PGH) healthcare workers. The said initiative was part of TMP Foundation’s partnership with PGH and Toyota Mobility Foundation’s (TMF) “Healthcare Mobility for All” (HEAL) Project.

Fast-forward to August, a modified version of the Toyota Tamaraw was presented by Atoy Llave of Atoy Customs to showcase how the nameplate can be utilized as a police car. 

Last September, TMP Foundation turned over three Toyota Tamaraws to PGH — a follow-up to the aforementioned HEAL Project. 

Finally, proving that the Toyota Tamaraw can also drive the livelihood of Filipinos. The local subsidiary of the Japanese carmaker brought some versions of the model to the “Toyota Tamaraw Food Park” in Marikina Town Center.
