Toyota brings special edition Yaris Y20 on its 20th anniversary

MANILA:  The Toyota Yaris is one of the most successful nameplates in the company’s shed and this can be proven by its existence in the market for 20 years now. It first made its international debut at the Paris Motor Show in 1998 and is now into its third generation in these two decades.

Hence, to celebrate this special occasion, the company has released a special made-to-order edition and named it the Yaris Y20. It has the exterior elements designed to pay homage to the original model launched two decades back. There is the same gold paint job on the exterior, much like the 1998 car. However, Toyota has added a bit more to the exterior by giving it a contrasting grey roof. It gets chrome accents on the front grille, rear-view mirrors and on the surrounding of the fog lamps. It rides on 16-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels.

The cabin of this special Toyota Yaris Y20 gets a grey colour color tone all around, including the seats, dashboard and the steering covers. However, contrasting with the grey theme, there are satin chrome coloured meter surrounds, speakers and air vents. The floor mat is unique and rounds up the special cabin of this bespoke Y20.

On the technical bits, this new Toyota Yaris Y20 will be offered with an all-new multimedia system that comes with inbuilt smartphone connectivity. This will enable a very easy integration with smartphones that would allow access to the contacts on the device and also to the popular apps. Multi-touch gesture support, voice commands, and navigation would be offered.

However, this special edition Toyota Yaris Y20 will be available in the European markets and will be a mid-spec model to the lineup. Availability in the Philippines is not known yet.
