Toyota unveils next-gen Camry

MANILA: Toyota has revealed the ninth-generation Camry, which features a striking new look and the latest hybrid electric powertrain.

The 2025 Camry comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and the fifth-gen Toyota Hybrid System composed of compact electric motors that deliver more power than the previous version.

The front-wheel drive variants churn out 225 horsepower (hp), while the electronic on demand all-wheel drive models produce 232 hp.

Higher acceleration and a more satisfying torque feel is also provided by the new Camry as Toyota has reduced its engine revs at low speeds and increased power from the traction battery.

To mark the Japanese carmaker's strengthened commitment to reducing carbon emissions, the new Camry features the “Beyond Zero” badge.

The suspension system of the sedan was also upgraded for improved stability, responsiveness, and handling that result in an even better on-road comfort.

Designed in the United States, the next-gen Camry sports a svelte look with a unique hammerhead front fascia, slim LED headlights, daytime running lights, and tail lights.

Inside, the newest iteration of the hybrid sedan comes standard with an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen display. Customers may also opt for a 12.3-inch screen. The Toyota Audio Multimedia System also comes with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity.

The cabin is also equipped with a Qi wireless charging pad and USB-A and USB-C ports.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is also standard on the new Camry. Included in this safety suite are pre-collision system, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, automatic high beams, and proactive driving assist.

The 2025 Toyota Camry will be available in US dealerships starting next year. There is no confirmation yet on whether this model will be released in the Philippines.
