Toyota Vios is the best selling passenger car: CAMPI

MANILA: The May 2019 Automotive Industry Performance Report of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) has stated that Toyota Vios is the authoritative best selling car in the Philippines. With accounting for around 25% of the total passenger cars sold, the Toyota Vios has, once again,

proved its mettle and given the Philippine population another reason for choosing the Vios over any other sedan in the market. The recent extension of the standard warranty on the Toyota Vios to a 5-year or 100,000-kilometre package than the 3-year or 100,000-kilometre warranty in the past is another reason why the Toyota Vios should be your go-to sedan.

Between January 2019 to May 2019, a total of 50,097 passenger cars (PC) were sold in the Philippines. The Toyota Vios left all other popular cars in the market way behind with 12,295 units sold during the time period. Moreover, the Toyota Vios was the only car in the market to surpass 10,000 sales.

Also, the sedan came close to 3,000 sales in the month of May itself. Interestingly, 3,000 was the average sales figure for the Vios prior to the implementation of the TRAIN Law in 2018. Hence, it won’t be untrue to say that the Philippine automobile market, at least for Toyota, is coming back on track. Another Toyota vehicle that did remarkably well during the time period was the Hilux. 8,723 units of the Japanese pickup truck were sold.
