UAE Orders Recall For 2023 Ford Territory. PH units not affected

MANILA: Ford Territory cars produced this year and sold in the UAE have a recall notice from the Ministry of Economy.

A recall has been issued for a total of 665 units to conduct a quality check on the welding between the cross-car beam and the steering column bracket. The notification specified that the affected vehicles were manufactured in China.

“On affected vehicles, the steering column bracket may detach from the vehicle cross-car beam due to an incorrectly welded joint,” the ministry said. "When a steering column bracket begins to come loose, the customer may hear noise from the steering column."

The ministry added: “It is possible that the steering column bracket may detach from the vehicle cross-car beam, and the customer will be unable to steer the vehicle, increasing the risk of crash or injury.”

All owners of the impacted 2023 Ford Territory are urged to get in touch with service outlets in the UAE to schedule a free inspection and repair appointment.

Ford Philippines has reached out and informed us that none of the units sold locally are affected by the said issue.
