Zigwheels PH monthly wrap: June 2026

Last month’s stories headlined by launches at PIMS

Zigwheels PH monthly wrap: June 2026

MANILA: The month which closes the year’s first quarter proved to be an eventful one, thanks to the barrage of launches that took place at the 10th edition of the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), as well as a few more rollouts that took place outside the bi-annual motoring expo.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What auto show saw the largest number of local launches this month?

PIMS 2026 saw a large number of local launches in June.
  • What brands launched vehicles outside of PIMS?

Brands like Geely and GWM launched new cars outside of PIMS.
  • Aside from the newest addition to the ever-growing auto (and moto) industry roster, the month also saw several promos that further drove sales for local players. In between, we also witnessed various dealership opening from these brands.

On that note, here is the abridged version of the biggest news stories that transpired in June.

    Other stories:

    Local launches

    PIMS presentations

We kick things off with some of the most memorable launches and previews at PIMS.

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) commenced its salvo with the launch of the ninth-generation Hilux, which now comes in a battery electric vehicle (BEV) format, alongside a more modern, futuristic look.

Also making an appearance at PIMS was the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ, which was officially unveiled globally at the previous Japan Motor Show. Pre-order books were immediately opened after its Philippine debut.

TMP also brought in the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 HEV (hybrid electric vehicle), which now stands as the topmost model offered by the local wing of the Japanese auto brand.

Fellow Japanese carmaker Subraru brought in the hybrid version of the Crosstrek. Packing the e-Boxer Hybrid powertrain, it looks to cater to the needs of outgoing car buyers who still want to enjoy the benefits of electrification.

As for Isuzu Philippines Corporation, the company displayed the latest iteration of the D-Max pickup truck at PIMS

Meanwhile, Suzuki Philippines Incorporated finally unleashed the e-Vitara. Despite coming in second (in terms of launch dates) after the rebadged Toyota Urban Cruiser, it is still a milestone for the company as it is itss first “legit” electrified model in the country.

On the other hand, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) was eager to present the upcoming Outlander PHEV (plug-in hybrid vehicle) to the Filipino market. Its return seems to be a proving phase for the brand before bringing in the hybrid versions of the Xpander and Xforce

Nissan, too, came out guns blazing with the launch of the all-new X-Trail e-POWER. It was presented alongside the all-new Kicks e-POWER, Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid and Primera EV (electric vehicle).

Chinese carmaker Jaecoo rolled out the J5 EV, while Chery Auto (under the stewardship of United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated) released the all-new QEV. Finally, Morris Garages (MG) Philippines unboxed the MG HS PHEV, the all-new MG RX9 PHEV, and the MG4 EV Urban at the auto show

    Other local releases

Some other brands too made their mark and presences felt in June.

Geely Motor Philippines finally launched the EX2 after an abundance of appearances here and there. The nameplate has earned over 1,000 reservations since March 2026, which could be a reflection of how well it is received in China.

MMPC also launched a new variant of the Mitsubishi Xforce last month, proving just how busy the three-diamond brand is in the Philippines. The new trim level effectively expands the nameplate’s roster and makes it more accessible to the masses, the same way it did with the Triton pickup truck

Suzuki Philippines Incorporated’s motorcycle arm launched the Burgman 15, which is touted as a smarter means of commuting, while Yamaha Motor Philippines released the updated Mio Gear S earlier last month

Returning to four-wheelers, Great Wall Motor (GWM) Philippines rolled out the Haval H7, which is the smaller hybrid brother of the larger Haval H9

And in the luxury segment, BMW Philippines bolstered its lineup with the introduction of the limited X5 xDrive50e xLine. Only 50 units of the SUV is allocated to the country, making it a sought-after model for collectors and enthusiasts.

    Promos in June

As we cap the first quarter of 2026, a handful of companies continued to rollout promos to sustain their momentum and bring more customers into the fold.

Notably, Ford Philippines extended its Employee Pricing Program through the month. With it, regular customers can enjoy benefits that only employees of the company experienced, like cash savings, all-in down payment options, and zero-percent interest financing deals.

Lexus Philippines rolled out exclusive offers across its RX lineup, which makes the luxury models more affordable. Aside from the highlighted model range, the LBX, NXh, and the GX are also available with promos.

On the other hand, Toyota has highlighted the Wigo, Raize, and Tamaraw in its recent campaign, which puts its Straight Cash option in the spotlight. The said promo cuts off some P40,000 from select variants of the said models.

Likewise, also sold with promos for June are variants of the Toyota Avanza, Veloz, Fortuner, and Ativ.

Lexus is not the only luxury brand with tempting deals last month. Mercedes-Benz released a promo that cuts down the price of a vehicle from P200,000 to as much as P2.5 million. Namely, the discounts are for the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4MATIC (and EQB 250+ Electric Art) and the EQS 450 4MATIC AMG Line Sedan.

Aside from the discount, those who purchased a vehicle from the executive brand also received a 1886 Benz Patent Motorwagen Replica.

For Changan Philippines, which is steered by Inchcape Philippines, it started a roadshow that saw the marque’s models on display, and even offer event-exclusive promos to those who get a new vehicle during the mall tour

The first leg was in SM Southmall in Alabang, but will have legs in other parts of the country.

    Dealer openings

Launching cars and offering promos isn’t the only game played by local brands. They also work to expand their reach, and in extension, their ability to service their customers, with new dealership openings.

Jetour Auto Philippines was one of the many brands that did so, with the opening of its new facility in Calamba. It is operated in partnership with Areza Motors Sales Incorporated and is positioned to serve customers across the entire Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Rizal-Quezon (CALABARZON) region.

It also opened a new dealer location in Southern Mindanao, specifically in Lanang, Davao City. This installation is operated with Davao Bonifacio Motors.

Jetour’s GAIA sub-brand has secured two more dealer partners in June, which are MG Gateway Mantrade Corporation (Gateway) and Prima Sierra Autohaus, Incorporated (Prima Sierra). The dealerships will be opened in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig and Alabang, Muntinlupa.

On the other hand, BAIC Philippines forged partnerships with MG Gateway Mantrade Corporation to secure future dealer openings in Manila Bay, Taguig, and Matina, Davao

Nissan opened its 44th dealership in Santa Rosa with Synergyauto Ventures Corporation, while Radar Philippines expanded its reach in Visayas with an upcoming dealership opening in Cebu

While we are in Cebu, Chery Auto Philippines opened a new dealer in the area, which is operated with Pacific Autoworld Incorporated (a part of Borromeo Group of Companies)

Finally, TMP opened a new service center in Palo, Leyte. The new facility was established in cooperation with the brand’s Tacloban dealership.

    Other news

In other news, Ford Philippines opened its new learning center in Calamba, Laguna. It replaces the brand’s training facility in Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati and looks to significantly expand its training capacity and elevate the delivery of training programs and learning modules.

TMP will proceed with the second leg of the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup at the Clark International Speedway on July 11, 2026

Nissan expanded its collaboration with Quiccs Maiquez with new toy designs inspired by brand’s four electrified models

Lastly, Vingroup subsidiaries released more than P50 million aid to Mindanao quake-hit areas. Brands under the said conglomerate are VinFast, V-Green, VinEnergo, and Green GSM.
