Suzuki Gixxer SF 155: the lone variant on offer

Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) expanded its Gixxer lineup not too long ago with the introduction of the SF 155.

The middleweight sport bike arrives as another solid option for motorcycle enthusiasts looking for a daily driver with an attitude — whether on the streets or on the track.

On that note, we take a look at the sole variant on offer to help motorcycle buyers better understand Suzuki’s latest two-wheeler.

Fit and finish

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 is equipped with fairings that make it look athletic and somewhat aggressive. It can be noted that its appearance looks close to the Hayabusa.

At its fore is a sharp-looking cowling that houses its headlamp. A short windshield serves aerodynamic purposes and slightly protects the rider from the elements. On each of its sides are angular side mirrors.

The flanks of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 wear fairings that appear to hug its fuel tank. Protruding on each side of the claddings are turn signals that help when one needs to change lanes while on the road.

Further accentuating its sporty appeal are the contours on its gas tank, adorned with the brand’s emblem. One can also find flat (yet comfortable) seats from this angle as well as metal foot pegs, a sporty (two-part) muffler, and the motorcycle’s chain cover.

Slightly exposed is its engine, which we will get to in a few.

The rear end of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 is bedecked with tapered appointments, which come in the form of its pointed fender, angular taillights, a plate holder that further extends its hind’s reach, two turn signals integrated into the said extended fender, and a two-piece grab handle for the pillion rider.

Overall, the Suzuki Gixxer SF 155’s single variant offers would-be owners a suitable motorcycle that would suit a wide variety of styles and motoring needs.

Engine, chassis

Powering the Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, single overhead camshaft engine with 155 cubic centimeter (cc) displacement.

According to the motorcycle manufacturer, it generates a maximum output of 14 horsepower (hp) with 14 Newton-meters (Nm) of decent pulling power.

The respectable powerplant is accompanied by a five-speed manual transmission and clocks in at approximately 50 kilometers per liter.

Its chassis system is supported by a telescopic front fork with coil springs and is oil-damped. It is connected to a 17-inch wheel with a 100/80 tubeless tire.

At the back, it rides on a similarly-sized wheel (17 inches), shod in a 140/60 series tire.

Facilitating deceleration and halts are disc brakes — front and back.

Technology

Tech-wise, SPH gave the Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 a full digital instrument cluster as well as an all-LED lighting setup.

Its engine is fuel-injected, runs the Suzuki Eco Performance system, and is accompanied by an easy start technology for added convenience.

Despite being offered in a sole variant, motorcycle buyers can still enjoy some level of personalization through the Suzuki Gixxer SF 155’s two available color variants, which we have listed below:
