Suzuki Raider Underground Battle in Cebu gathers 500 riders

MANILA: Suzuki Philippines Incorporated has highlighted the Raider 150 and Raider Pro through a massive gathering in Cebu. 

Dubbed the “Raider Underground Battle,” it is a follow-up to a similar event in Luzon, which reportedly saw a huge number of riders and enthusiasts. On that note, the more recent one in Cebu was also met with a huge crowd of 500 Suzuki Raider owners.

One of the highlights of the event was the 200-strong motorcade at the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX). Suzuki says that this is the largest Raider Underground Battle motorcade to date.

Likewise making the event more festive are several motorcycle time-based racing challenges, which saw the following winners:

Other fun events at the Raider Underground Battle held in Cebu include the Raider Babe beauty contest and the Raider Rap battle. 

Suzuki continues to highlight the Raider’s long-standing presence in the underbone motorcycle segment and the wider local motorcycle market. As the campaign progresses, the brand plans to bring succeeding legs to more locations nationwide, giving Raider enthusiasts additional opportunities to participate in the activities.

As of this writing, the Suzuki Raider 150 retails at P130,000, while the higher-spec Raider Pro is priced at P146,400. 

For their powertrains, the two models are pretty much identical. Both use a four-stroke, single-cylinder, dual-overhead cam mill with a displacement of 147 cubic centimeters. The engine is paired with a manual six-speed transmission and produces up to 18 horsepower and 13.8 Newton-meters of torque. 

Ride quality and stability for both models are handled by a telescopic front fork with oil-damped springs and a spring-arm suspension at the rear. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes for both front and rear. 

What sets the Suzuki Raider Pro apart from the Raider 150 is its sheer amount of on-board technologies. 

Specific to the Raider Pro are the following components and features: 

• Anti-lock braking system
• Keyless ignition
• Full digital instrument panel with Ride Connect
• Suzuki Clutch Assist System
• USB charging port
