Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 vs. Suzuki Gixxer Fi 155: brotherly battle

Suzuki Philippines Incorporated recently unleashed the Gixxer SF 155 not too long ago. And while the newly released model effectively expands the nameplate’s lineup, some motorcycle buyers might get confused about which model to buy. 

On that note, we pit the Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 against its brother the Gixxer Fi 155 to see which middleweight motorcycle best suits your needs, budget, and motoring needs. 

Tale of the tape

Dimension-wise, the two Gixxers are nearly identical. The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 appears to be the more narrow of the two. Further, the Gixxer Fi 155 has a shorter wheelbase, which might affect ride quality. In addition, the former has a slightly higher ground clearance than the former.

With higher ground clearance and a slightly longer wheelbase, we give this round to the Suzuki Gixxer SF 155. 

Style, aesthetics 

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 has styling that leans more towards the sportier side of the spectrum. It packs a pointed cowling that houses its LED headlight with what seems to be a front spoiler and a small windshield. 

Its side profile is fitted with fairings that hug the front portion of the motorcycle up to its gasoline tank. Depending on the selected colorway, the claddings could be finished with either to exes overlapping each other or the more track-oriented white and trimmed with streaks of blue and the “SUZUKI” script.

The rear end of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 gets an aerodynamic design with a tail that tapers to the end. Here, it gets an LED taillamp and a two-piece grab handle for the pillion rider. 

As for the non-SF model, the Suzuki Gixxer Fi 155 is designed to resemble a street fighter or a naked bike. 

That said, its headlamp is housed in a skimpy frame with an exposed instrument cluster and naked handlebars. 

Its flanks get some fairings that also seem to cradle the tank but have less coverage than its SF counterpart. Bare is its engine as well as the tubes that connect to the exhaust pipe. 

At the back, the Suzuki Gixxer Fi 155 has an aggressive-looking light, a two-part grab bar, and a protruding rear fender. 

The two motorcycles are neck and neck in this round as they touch two different aesthetic areas that attract different kinds of buyers. 

Frame 

Both the Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 and the Gixxer Fi 155 share the same underpinnings.
