2018 Honda Click 125i: First impression
Honda Two Wheelers Philippines isn’t just resting on its laurels. The motorcycle maker, inarguably the largest in the Philippines, is launching one after another new product. Their last launch, the Beat, was done two months ago. Now Honda has launched the all-new 2018 Honda Click 125i.
The Honda Click 125i is one of the top of the line scooters that Honda has got the Filipino audience. The 2018 Honda Click 125i price is Php 74,900. There are four colors to choose from - Vivid Blue Metallic, Anchor Gray Metallic, Nitric Orange, and Space Magenta Metallic. Bookings will start in a few days from now. Here are our first impressions of the 2018 Honda Click 125i.
Looks
The Honda Click 125i is instantly recognisable. Honda hasn’t departed from the basic silhouette design of the outgoing scooter. Fresh bits include the use of all LED lights as well as LED DRLs. World over, Honda two, as well as four-wheelers, are adopting LED lighting tech. It is said that these are more efficient than your regular incandescent bulb. Need we say that they look great and the illumination provided is also far better. Mixing style with substance then. The 2018 Honda Click 125i looks almost like a wasp in a stationary pose.
The foot pegs too have been revised while the tail light is needless to say, an LED unit too. Under seat storage has been enhanced now and is 18 litres. This, the company officials say, will easily hold a full face helmet. The race helmet users though will have to contend with carrying their helmets in their arms. Instrument console of the new Click 125i too is fully digital and hosts a wide range of information like the speed, twin trip meters, distance to empty, fuel gauge, clock, battery indicator, oil change interval, tell tale lights as well as service indicator.
Engine and performance
Honda uses the same refined 125 cc fuel injected motor in the Click 125i. This engine produces 11 PS of power and 10.8 Nm of torque. The starting mechanism is an electric decompression unit meaning one has to just press the starter once. The liquid-cooled transistorised fuel-injected mill claims a mileage of 53 kmpl. Couple this with the five-litre fuel tank and you theoretically can run around 250 kilometre before needing to refuel.
Brakes and equipment
Honda has given cast wheels to the new Click 125i. The tyre size in the front is 80/90 - 14 M/C 40P while that at the back is 90/90 - 14 M/C 46P. Honda has given a hydraulic disc brake in the front and a drum at the rear. These brakes are interlinked through the Combined Braking System. Honda has also given a rear brake lock clamp that will be handy if the scooter is parked on an incline. The dimensions of the scooter are 1,919 x 679 x 1,062 mm in length, width and height respectively. The wheelbase stands at 1,280 mm. If you talk about the kerb weight, then it is 111 kg.
Overall feedback
Given that the Honda Click 125i has been completely updated, it is but natural that it has become more attractive now. The Honda Click 125i specs too show an improvement especially the mileage. Like the Beat before it, this Honda model too will woo the audience for sure.
