All-New Toyota Rush - See What’s New (with Images)
Finally, Toyota has decided to bring Rush to the Philippines auto market. We have waited pretty long for it and now seeing the second-generation model, the delay seems totally worth it! The reason we love Rush or the crossover segment, in general, is for the fact that they can seat seven people at once and have the ability to beat unfavorable road and traffic conditions (a common sight in our country).
As for the present scenario, the crossover market is already heating up with players like Honda BR-V and upcoming Mitsubishi Xpander. Now, with Toyota’s addition, the game will only take an exciting turn.
Time for some little piece of information for the newsroom -
- Toyota Philippines announced the arrival of all-new Rush at the annual Thanksgiving bash. The car would knock the dealership doors in the second-quarter of 2018.
- The all-new Toyota Rush arrived in the Indonesian market recently, and since its launch, the car is building strong sales figure of the company.
Since the all-new Rush has arrived in the neighbouring country, it’s the perfect opportunity to check what Toyota’s subcompact SUV has on offer for us. Here an informative gallery giving clues as to what Toyota’s first crossover has to offer to the Philippines.
-Toyota Rush hails from the sub-compact SUV segment and so displays a justifiable dimension spec measuring 4435 mm in length, 1695 mm in width, and 1705 mm in height. The wheelbase and ground clearance spec reads as 2685 mm and 220 mm respectively. Tallying these figures with its immediate competitor Honda BR-V, Rush wines both on the ground clearance (by 20 mm) and wheelbase front (by 23 mm). This difference may appear small on paper but on-road even the smallest of variation counts.
-All-new Rush borrows designing clues from Innova and Fortuner, mainly visible on the front fascia. Giving it a robust and sporty appeal is present a dashing dark chrome grille joined by advanced tech LED headlamps nearing its end. The fog lamp casing gets faux air intakes and looks masculine thanks to the black cladding.
- 2018 Rush features a body-on-frame crossover silhouette, very similar to Honda BR-V. Its styling further includes bits and pieces of SUV-similar look such as roof rails and macho body cladding.
-The rear gets LED graphic infused wraparound LED tail lamps. Further enhancing its masculine appeal is present roof spoiler with black casing continuing all the way to rear windshield.
-Rush has the power to take on rough roads, thanks to the standard 16-inch alloy wheels. The TRD Sportivo Type ride on a more prominent pair of 17-inch wheels that are fitted with 215/60 cross section tyres.
-Inside the cabin, Toyota has decorated Rush drive’s den with a twin-dial instrument cluster setup displaying information in black-blue graphics (similar to the one seen in Fortuner).
-Upgrading the feature game, the all-new Rush comes with passive engine start-stop keyless entry. Also, the now leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel comes with utility buttons.
-The new Rush displays a modern looking cabin (a major miss in previous gen model). Though, the dash still sports a lot of plastic. However, the lower end now replaces it with soft material.
-Taking care of occupants comfort and entertainment needs are present - a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system with Miracast screen function and automatic climate control system.
-On opening the new Rush hood can be seen a 1.5-litre VVT-i petrol mill paired with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The said engine produces 104 PS at 6000 rpm of power and 136 Nm at 4200 rpm of torque.
Toyota Rush gives occupant safety a high priority and therefore has fitted all variants with the following kit - six SRS airbags, solid vehicle stability control, assuring seven seat belt indicator, anti-lock braking system, secured hill-start assist, emergency brake signal, Toyota Isofix base, and Toyota MINI.
With this, we come to an end of the all-new Rush update. It's not long before the crossover comes to the Philippines and competes with its Honda and Mitsubishi counterparts.
