Changan CS15: what are the updates?

Not too long ago, Changan Philippines — under the stewardship of Inchcape Philippines — rolled out the updated CS15.

Now with some mild, modest updates, here are some of the changes it has to offer car buyers who are looking to drive home the latest iteration of the compact crossover.

A new fascia

The updated Changan CS15 has been endowed with a new fascia in the form of a multi-dimensional rhombic grille. The meshwork, when compared to the chrome slats of the previous iteration, makes it look more sporty. 

Its meshwork is flanked by the headlamp cluster with LED daytime running lights. The lower front bumper also protrudes ever so slightly, helping add a dash of character to the new model.

New kicks

A new set of wheels can be found on the new Changan CS15, which is finished in a solid gunmetal tone. 

While some prefer the previous two-tone wheels fortis modern look, others — such as the author — like the monotone paintwork that helps reinforce the sportiness of the latest version of the vehicle.

Updated infotainment screen

The infotainment system of the Changan CS15 has also been upgraded, now with the capability to wirelessly integrate smartphone use with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

On that note, tech-savvy car buyers will now have the option to use smartphone apps on the vehicle’s display screen with ease. This means taking advantage of navigational programs as well as answering calls and listening to text messages, is made seamless. Likewise, getting entertained by podcasts and music is also made more accessible.

Upgraded ports

It is also worth mentioning that the charging ports of the Changan CS15 have been updated. It now gets two ports (type-A and -C) at the front and one type-C port at the rear. 

This means that gadgets, handheld gaming consoles, and other devices that need to be juiced up can be recharged without the use of aftermarket charging ports.

Pricing

The new Changan CS15 is available for purchase at any of the brand’s dealerships nationwide. 

It is priced at P850,000 (previously P799,000).
