Zigwheels PH most viewed for 2025: Toyota Raize

The Toyota Raize lands in a very good spot in our top 20 most searched vehicles in 2025. On that note, we are not surprised that it is one of the brand’s best-selling models, and why we see plenty of these compact crossover sport utility vehicles (SUV) plying our roads. 

On that note, we take a look at why we believe the Toyota Raize is getting plenty of attention from car buyers eyeing the model that seems to “Raize” the bar for nameplates competing in the segment. 

Fit for city life 

The case with us Filipinos seems to be that the quality of our roads dictates the kind of vehicle that drives the market. Hence, we see fewer buyers patronizing sedans and more people going for automobiles that sport larger wheels, thicker tires, and higher ground clearances — such as crossover SUVs. 

Alright, so this solves having to find an ideal ride for pothole-ridden thoroughfares and roads that quickly become gross body of waters soon after minutes of rain. But what about the cramped parking spots and narrow streets that many motorists living in the metro face? Well, good thing the Toyota Raize won’t take up too much space due to its compact form factor. Plus, this makes the vehicle easily maneuverable in heavy traffic.

Aside from its dimensions, the Toyota Raize even has an aggressive-looking exterior to boot. 

Its fore is fitted with a large fascia complemented by a similarly big grille. Flanking the latticework are daytime running lights and fog lamps. Meanwhile, the headlamps are connected by a garnish that nestles the marque’s emblem at the center. 

Onto its sides are thin, but noticeable claddings slapped on the wheel arches and on its side sills. It rides on 16-inch wheels shod in chunky 205/65 tires, which help dampen road imperfections. 

Its rear end is as chiseled as its front end with LED taillamps and a beefy bumper.

Great for long trips 

While the Toyota Raize is great for moving around the concrete jungle, it is also a good ride for covering longer distances. And with the holidays just around the corner, owners of the crossover SUV would have a reliable partner for visiting relatives and attending family reunions outside the busy city. 

For one, it offers comfortable seating for five. The top-of-the-line variant even gets seats finished in fabric and synthetic leather for additional plushness in longer drives. 

Keeping the driver informed of relevant data is an easy-to-understand and very legible seven-inch thin-film transistor. Right next to it is a nine-inch floating infotainment system with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to help the person behind the wheel stay awake and the passengers entertained. 

The head unit is helpful since it displays online navigation and allows the front passenger to go over their playlist for an enjoyable road trip. The range-topping grade gets six speakers for a decent audio experience. 

Lastly, the boot can carry a few bags that travelers might bring for quick weekend getaways or for stacking “pasalubongs” they might buy on their way home. 

Two engine options 

We also believe that having the option to choose between a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0-liter turbocharged mill appeals to Filipino car buyers since they can select a variant that best suits their needs. 

For comparison’s sake, the naturally-aspirated powerplant makes the below numbers:

Meanwhile, the variant packing the turbocharger does the following figures:

That said, car buyers wanting more power can go with the top-tier variant, while those who might be prioritizing fuel efficiency can select otherwise. 

Final thoughts 

The Toyota Raize is definitely a sales driver for the brand since it ticks all the boxes for modern-day Filipino car buyers.
