2019 Toyota Avanza starts at Php 731,000?

MANILA: With the competition in the automobile market becoming fierce than ever before, the automakers need to either bring newer models more frequently or update their existing products in order to survive in the market. Some brands even go to the extent of coming up with a facelift every year as the cost of updating an already available vehicle is cheaper than building a completely new vehicle altogether. Taking the centre stage today is the 2019 Toyota Avanza. The MPV was indeed due for an update and the Filipinos finally have a new Japanese MPV in the market.

Toyota had already launched the improved Avanza in Indonesia, earlier this year, and now, our anxiety for the 2019 Avanza has been put to rest as well. Speaking of the changes on the MPV, the Avanza now features a split headlamp setup on the front, which is similar to the Vellfire. The front end now looks wider and better thanks to the Lexus inspired grille. Moving to the sides, there isn’t any change to talk about, however, Toyota has updated the rear end of the MPV by using new taillamps along with a revamped bumper. Another interesting addition is of the chrome strip that joins the two taillamps at the rear. However, this is only available on the high-end models.

Barring the revisited central console and music system, the story inside the 2019 Toyota Avanza is also pretty much the same as before. Features like steering wheel audio controls, digital A/C, and push-button ignition make their way to the high-end variants only. On the mechanical front, the MPV continues to house the same old 1.3- and 1.5-litre motors which are equipped with VVT-i. The transmission options also continue to be the same 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic units.

Moving on, the 2019 Toyota Avanza is said to come with dual front SRS airbags, ABS, and other safety features. While these are not the official prices yet, the different variants of the facelifted 2019 Toyota Avanza are expected to come with the following price tags:

• 1.3 E Manual: 864,000
• 1.3 E Automatic: 907,000
• 1.5 G Manual: 957,000
• 1.5 G Automatic: 1,00,000
• 1.5 Veloz A/T: 1,065,000
