All-new Toyota Innova with FWD, monocoque platform could launch next month

MANILA: The Innova, one of Toyota's best-selling vehicles, will soon debut in a brand-new form. The next-generation MPV's first official look was recently presented in Indonesia, where it will be known as the "Innova Zenix."

The 2023 Toyota Innova Zenix, which will replace the second-generation vehicle, is referred to by the carmaker as "the next distinguished crossover."

It has a crossover-like front fascia with a wide grille and brand-new dual-beam LED projector headlights, which are advantageous. The MPV's bonnet has several creases that give it an aggressive flair. Another distinguishing aesthetic feature of the 2023 Toyota Innova Zenix is the triangular housings for the fog lights on the restyled bumper.

For the first time, the ladder-on-frame foundations will be replaced by a monocoque platform (Toyota New Global Architecture) for the updated MPV.

The car will have a larger footprint with the new base, measuring about 4,700 mm in length with a 2,850 mm wheelbase. With cabin space as its ongoing USP, these figures make the future Innova marginally larger than the current model. The Innova Zenix is likely to have more seating options than the current model.

A hybrid drivetrain under the hood of the well-known Japanese MPV will be another debutant. Although details are still lacking, the carmaker claims that the greener mill would have front-wheel drive and maybe a 2.0-liter engine with more than 190 horsepower.

In addition, Toyota is probably going to provide a petrol engine alternative to reduce the cost of the base model. Instead of the current 5-speed manual transmission and 6-speed automatic transmission, shifting responsibilities might be performed by a CVT automatic.

The 2023 Toyota Innova Zenix is anticipated to have a considerably broader list of amenities.

Sunroofs, wireless charging, a "ottoman function" for the middle captain chairs, a larger and more technologically advanced infotainment system, an electric parking brake with auto brake hold, a 360-degree camera, and Toyota's safety and driver assistance systems like Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Warning, Front Departure Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control are a few of these features that may be included.

Next month, in Indonesia, the Toyota Innova could make its formal debut.
