Geely Motor PH highlights Coolray’s safety gear fit for rainy season

MANILA: Geely Motor Philippines (GMP) is highlighting the safety features of the Coolray subcompact crossover. Per the brand’s local arm, it has the right safety gear to address the challenges posed by the ongoing rainy season. 

Of particular note on the Geely Coolray is its electronic stability control (ESC) system, its traction control system (TCS), its hydraulic brake assist (HBA), blind spot detection (BSD), and its array of cameras. 

The Geely Coolray’s ESC is touted to keep the vehicle stable when travelling on slippery roads by actively managing braking force for each wheel in order to prevent skidding. It's TCS, meanwhile, which can prevent wheel spin on wet surfaces, thus ensuring handling despite inclement weather. 

On the other hand, the car’s HBA’s can modulate brake force when the driver needs to perform sudden stops. In doing so, stopping the Coolray even on slick or water-logged roads remains effective. 

On the other hand, the Geely Coolray has a 540-degree high definition (HD) panoramic camera and a four-way HD digital video recorder (DVR). 

The DVR is useful for documenting one’s drivers, and its recorded video may be helpful in insurance claims and the like. Its 540-degree HD camera, meanwhile, can help improve exterior visibility, which is helpful when dealing with tight parking spots. 

Moreover, the Coolray’s BSD can warn the driver of vehicles positioned in areas that are beyond the view of the vehicle’s side mirrors.

Geely Coolray in PH

In the Philippine market, the Geely Coolray starts at P989,000 with the Comfort Plus, P1.049 million for the Premium Plus, P1.149 million for the Sports Plus, and P1.179 million for the Sports Plus LG. 

Propelling the model is a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four gasoline engine capable of producing up to 171 horsepower and 290 Newton-meters of torque. Power is sent to its front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. 

Inside the Geely Coolray is a five-seater layout equipped with leather upholstery, an ambient lighting system, a panoramic sunroof, an automatic air-conditioning system, and a power tailgate. 

Its driver, meanwhile, has access to a leather steering wheel, a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 10.25-inch digital display, and front seat ventilation.

Other noteworthy creature comforts available for the Geely Coolray include, but are not limited to:
