Geely to roll out EX5’s first global update in 2026

MANILA: The Geely EX5 will receive its first global update in 2026, with improvements focused on enhancing the everyday user experience.

In a statement, the Chinese automaker said the updates will cover intelligent connectivity, ease of use, system responsiveness and safety-related optimization.

Geely said the refresh centers on three key enhancements aimed at improving usability across the intelligent cockpit and overall driving experience:

• Android Auto in-car connectivity, adding support for Android systems to enable broader vehicle integration.
• Customizable acoustic vehicle alerting system (AVAS) low-speed sounds, with three selectable audio profiles.
• A new Drive Setup one-touch activation feature, allowing drivers to quickly adjust multiple intelligent driving functions.

The EX5, built on Geely’s Global Electric Architecture platform, will use the GEEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture.

“By shifting to a centralized computing framework with coordinated regional control, the new architecture enhances system responsiveness and stability,” the company said.

Additionally, the firm mentioned that the platform enables the intelligent cockpit and in-vehicle ecosystem to evolve over time, helping ensure the vehicle remains updated throughout its lifecycle.

The automaker said the EX5 is sold in more than 40 countries, including Australia, the United Kingdom, Italy and Brazil. It added that the model has led pure electric vehicle sales in markets such as the United Arab Emirates, Brazil and Mexico.

Further, the EX5 also received the Best Interior Design award at the Turin Automotive Design Award.

Geely said the EX5 is the first model in the company’s history to earn five-star safety ratings from New Car Assessment Programs in both Europe and Australia.
