Here's what we saw at the 13th PEVS

MANILA: The 13th edition of the Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) lived up to its name — electric. For those who missed the first and most eventful day, here are some of its highlights.

GAC Aion PH rolls out V, Hyptec HT

GAC Aion Philippines launched the V and Hyptec HT electric sport utility vehicles (SUV). 

Here are some of their specifications:

GAC Aion PH shows off upcoming UT

The company also previewed the UT during PEVS 13. 

The GAC Aion UT is a compact crossover that uses an all-electric system.

Owners are to be treated with creature comfort and convenience features like: 

• 14.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay

• Forward collision warning
• Lane departure warning

Kia PH previews EV5

The local subsidiary of South Korean carmaker Kia also stirred the event by providing attendees a preview of the EV5.

It is powered by a single electric motor with an 88.1 kWh battery that generates the below figures:

BYD Cars PH introduces the eMAX 9 DM-i

BYD Cars Philippines, one of the strongest contenders in the local new-energy vehicle (NEV) market, has launched the eMAX 9 DM-i. 

It is a plug-in hybrid vehicle with the following powertrain specifications: 

Propulsion	Electric motor with 1.5-liter engine
Battery capacity (in kWh)	20.4 or 36.6
Range (in km)	170 (1,000 combined)
Maximum power (in hp)	267
Maximum torque (in Nm)	315

UAAGI showcases NEV lineup

United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated (UAAGI) had a strong showing with its full brand lineup present to showcase their NEV roster.

The brands include the likes of BAIC, Chery, Foton, Jetour, Lynk & Co, and Radar.
