Honda City Acquires Euro 4 Credentials

MANILA: The official distributor of Honda cars in the country, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HPI) has recently announced that the New City is now Euro 4 certified from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). This is the first vehicle from Honda's line up to be locally certified with Euro 4 level of emission standards.

The certificate received by City is under the DENR's Administrative Order (DAO) No. 2015-04 which requires all new passenger, light, and heavy duty motor vehicles to comply with Euro 4 emission standards by January 2016. Further, Euro 4 certifications ensures that the vehicles are manufactured in compliance with all laws and regulations of environment and emissions, thus, making your vehicles environmentally friendly vehicles.

Euro 4 compliant vehicles emit lower percentage of air pollutants like Nitrogen Oxide, Carbon Monoxide, and Hydrocarbons. Thus, ensure better quality of air to breathe in. HCPI initially introduced the Euro 4 level ready vehicles in 2004 and by the end of 2006, all Honda models sold in Philippines were ready for Euro 4 emission level. The current GM6 Honda City model driven in the country is fitted with a 1.5-litre L15Z1 SOHC i-VTEC inline-four that puts out 120 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm when mated with a CVT or to a 5-speed manual transmission.

As of now, HCPI is applying for certification for the rest of the vehicles of their line-up, not because they want to come up as a responsible and environment sensitive brand but, also because they care. “It has always been one of our thrusts to leave blue skies for our children.
