How about a Limited-Run Mazda MX-5 on its 30th anniversary?
MANILA: Are you excited about the North American International Auto Show? Even if you get a lot for your appetite in this grand auto show, don’t be content just yet. Wanna know why? All set to kick off on February 9 2019, the Chicago Auto Show has something intense up its sleeve for all of us. On this very show, in 1989, Mazda unveiled the first generation of the MX-5. Now in 2019, the Japanese automaker is set to pull the curtains for a special 30th Anniversary edition of the roadster.
Barring a severely blurry image and a 30th Anniversary badge, Mazda has not served us with anything else. The 30th Anniversary badge is expected to be placed on or inside each of the 1000 special edition Mx-5s with the car’s unique serial number in the form of 0001/1000. The car teased in the blurry image is also expected to come dipped in a bright red color similar to the first generation MX-5. Other embodiments in the roadster which should be based on the MX-5 RF model may include uniquely designed alloys along with Brembo brakes and rotors.
5 years ago, Mazda came up with a special edition of the MX-5. It was the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the roadster. The anniversary edition then was based on the third generation MX-5 and featured a Soul Red Metallic paint job complemented by black accents on the outside. In those days, Mazda Philippines got 25 of the 1000 limited editions for the MX-5 fanboys in the country. Time will tell if Mazda lovers will get their fair share this time around or not.
Do not forget to check out some sleek looking cars like the Mazda 6, Mazda CX-9, Mazda 3 Sedan and more in the Mazda Philippines lineup.
