Mazda releases the MX-5 RS in Japan

MANILA: Mazda unveils its new MX-5 in the Japanese market. This roadster gets some important upgradations in terms of handling and drive experience. Mazda is dedicated to provide great advantage to the driving enthusiasts. The two-seater roadster will be a fun factor equipped with new seats, updated chassis components and additional safety features.

Most importantly, the MX-5 RS resembles the standard roadster models and the new upgradations can be noticed inside the body clearly. The cabin has been reconfigured replacing the standard seats with Recaro units upholstered in premium Alcantara and Nappa leather. Additionally, the new roadster comes with a 9-speaker Bose audio music system and an engine sound enhancer.

Apart from cabin enhancements, the MX-5 RS has got some mechanical upgrades that boost the handling. New Bilstein shock absorbers installed beneath are dedicated to provide ultimate handling and driving experience. The braking system comes with large disc brakes that enables power stop.

Under the hood lies a 1.5-liter SkyActiv-G inline-four cylinder engine which is capable of churning out maximum power of 131 PS and peak torque of 150 Nm of torque, mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

As far as the safety is concerned, the MX-5 RS gets a lane departure warning system, a rear cross traffic alert and a blind spot monitoring system that prove to be amazing utilities.
