Mitsubishi Xpander Cross named Best Compact Carrier in 17th C! Awards

MANILA: The Mitsubishi Xpander Cross has won the Best Compact Carrier Award from the 17th Annual C! Awards of C! Magazine. 

C! Magazine Executive Editor Nicolas Calanoc explained why the motoring magazine gave the Xpander Cross the Best Compact Carrier title:  “The Compact Carrier class is a category of cars that aims to provide the conveniences of a multi-purpose vehicle at a very affordable price.

All the vehicles in the nomination are excellent vehicles, but the reason why the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross wins is because it is able to masterfully provide said conveniences while exuding an experience that is elevated."

He went on to add: "It is a mechanically sound vehicle that chooses its engine and transmission wisely while delivering an enjoyable driving experience.

When it comes to the standard equipment, the Mitsubishi Xpander can provide everything that a customer would want and then more. When everyone else (wants) a vehicle that (has) value for money, the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross delivers the best deal for the compact carrier segment.”

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC)  plugs the Xpander Cross (P1.255 million) as a sporty version of the Xpander MPV. The Cross wears SUV-inspired exterior flares, protective lower bumper skid plate, LED headlights and fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and wheel arch molding with side body garnish.

To clear uneven and challenging terrain, the Xpander Cross has a class-leading 225-millimeter ground clearance, which Mitsubishi said "is comparable or even better than some midsize SUVs." The crossover MPV is powered by a 1.5-liter engine. 

Inside, the Xpander Cross seat configuration can be folded in various positions for different space or seat requirements. The second- and third-row seats are capable of folding flat and with no gaps to accommodate large cargo load.

The seating configuration is combined with a luxurious interior design dominated by black with brown accents on the dashboard, as well as on the leather seat covers.
