Hyundai Motor PH revamps Staria lineup with new hybrid variants

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Philippines Incorporated (HMPH) has revamped the local Staria stable with the introduction of hybrid variants.

The launch of the Hyundai Staria Hybrid expanded the model’s lineup to six, leaving the base trim as the only internal combustion engine (ICE) option.

In a statement, the company said that the people hauler brings together smart electrified performance, elevated comfort, and advanced connectivity in one package.

Vehicle specifications

As the name suggests, all new Hyundai Staria Hybrid variants are powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged Euro 5-compliant gasoline-fed engine paired with a hybrid system. This powertrain can deliver:

Maximum output (in horsepower)	242
Peak torque (in Newton-meters)	265

All options are fitted with a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Further, the model also has Hyundai-exclusive smart hybrid functions such as e-Handling, which improves the Staria’s agility and stability while cornering, and e-Ride, which enhances ride quality when crossing speed bumps or rapid acceleration. 

Aside from the mill, the Staria Hybrid is the first nameplate under the local distributor’s lineup to have the Bluelink system with Hyundai Live Services. This service platform provides real-time traffic and weather updates directly via the infotainment system without the need to tether a smartphone. Per HMPH, the system data refreshes every two minutes, making every journey safer and more efficient.

Additionally, Bluelink allows occupants on board to send and receive text messages through online voice recognition. It also provides vehicle status, diagnostics, and health reports while enabling remote control of the climate settings, door locks, horn, and lights before entering the vehicle.

Other creature comforts that can be found inside are:

• 12.3-inch infotainment display paired with a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system
• Leather upholstery on mid- and upper-tier variants
• Multiple charging points (USB Type-C charging ports in the front and back rows and a wireless charging pad in front)
• Steering column-mounted Shift-by-Wire system
• Electronically-adjustable ventilated seats with lumbar support
• Dual power and tilt sunroof
• Smart key and push button ignition
• Electronic parking brake with auto hold function

The new Staria Hybrid has an optimized cabin as the nine-seat version now has a three-row seat configuration while the seven-seater trim received extended seat rails.

Exterior revisions include a redesigned front grille, new 18-inch alloy wheels, and cube projector-type LED headlamps on higher trims.

Moreover, the new Staria Hybrid is equipped with Hyundai SmartSense, which now adds features such as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Side Parking Distance Warning.

Available in three exterior colors—Creamy White, Abyss Black Pearl, and Shimmering Silver Metallic—and two interior themes, Bordeaux Brown and Anthracite Brown, the Hyundai Staria Hybrid can be had in the following trims:
