Nissan Navara N-Trek Warrior: An off-roader’s dream vehicle
MANILA: If you think Nissan Navara is a good enough pickup truck for both city and off-road driving as witnessed during the #GoAnywhere campaign, think again. Nissan Australia has just unveiled a more robust new version of this utility vehicle—the Nissan Navara N-Trek Warrior. The all-new Navara N-Trek Warrior is the company's answer to HSV SportsCat, Toyota Hilux Rugged X, and Ford Ranger Raptor.

The design for the tougher Navara was outsourced from the renowned Australian automotive engineering outfit, PremCar. The said company was given the task to design, engineer, test, and validate an off-road-focused version of the Navara suited for the tough conditions of Australian that will sit at the top of the pickup range.
What to expect from the tougher version of this Nissan pickup? First is the 42mm suspension lift, 20mm of which is from a new specification coil springs. But the front springs are softer with a longer free-standing spring height to achieve the required lift, which is much better for a 4WD on the off roads. These new suspensions are then partnered with new, bigger dampers with a 35mm piston and twin-tube design. This allows for more oil inside the shock that makes them better for handling high oscillations that comes with off-roading.

The new N-Trek Warrior will also feature new tyres - Cooper AT3 all-terrain in a 275/70R17 size with light-truck construction to match the suspension upgrades. This tyre variant was benchmarked and specifically chosen to produce the best balance of on-road and off-road performance. The camber has been slightly adjusted, and the throttle response has also been modified to suit the new set-up.
Besides the tyres and suspension upgrades, the new Nissan utility vehicle is fitted with a more aggressive-looking bumper that features hoop-less steel bulbar for better protection when off-roading. This is paired with a 3 mm stainless steel panel for the underbody and 470 mm LED light bar for good visibility. The fender flares, sports bar, dark orange accents, and darkened trim pieces of the Aussie version of the Navara were carried over to the N-Trek Warrior.

The Navara N-Trek Warrior is an absolute off-roader’s dream car. If only Nissan Philippines will also sell it here…
