Nissan PH rolls out safer, smarter Navara

MANILA: Nissan Philippines teamed up with the Department of Tourism to officially introduce the new Navara through an adventure drive to Ilocos Norte.

The adventure drive allowed journalists to get first dibs on the upgraded safety and driver assistance features of the updated Navara and experience the pickup’s powerful performance in the iconic sand dunes of the province.

The newest generation of Nissan Navara proudly carries the brand’s 80 years of pickup heritage, which is combined with the advanced technologies that make it more driver-friendly.

In a statement, Nissan ASEAN Regional Vice President Isao Sekiguchi said, “The Philippines is a key market for Nissan. Today, we're showing our commitment to transform our product lineup in the Philippines with the launch of Nissan's iconic pickup nameplate, the new Navara. The new entry in the key vehicle segment in the country is an important step in the company's Nissan Next transformation plan.”

The Navara now comes with a set of Nissan Intelligent Mobility safety features, making it the most advanced Navara yet. One of these features is the intelligent forward collision warning that monitors the second vehicle ahead and the vehicle directly in front to avoid multi-car accidents. The new Navara also comes with an intelligent emergency braking feature that automatically activates the brakes to reduce the risk of collisions. The Navara’s intelligent around-view monitor displays the surroundings of the vehicle through the four cameras that are installed on it to make parallel parking easier. The Navara also introduces a new feature, which is the off-road monitor that can detect obstructions on the surroundings at low speeds when in four-wheel drive mode. Other Nissan Intelligent Mobility features that are installed on the Navara include driver attention alert, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, and high beam assist.

The refreshed Navara also sports a bolder and more stylish exterior look, which is enhanced by the new quad projector LED headlamps, 17-inch and 18-inch wheels, rain sensing wipers, and auto folding mirrors. It also comes with a strengthened rear axle, increased payload capacity, additional truck bed volume and an integrated step in the rear bumper.

On the inside, the Navara features a new steering wheel with audio, hands-free and multi-information display controls, a dual-zone automatic air-conditioning system, a seven-inch high resolution Nissan Advanced Display Audio unit, a new fabric and leather seat design, and a new rear bench design.

The new Navara also comes with an updated rear suspension with dual rate coil springs so the pickup can easily adapt to any road condition.

The Navara is now available in the new PRO-4X grade that features a sportier look, which is accentuated by a black emblem, orange-accented front bumper, black grille, door handles, roof racks and running boards with 17-inch black wheels and all-terrain tires.
