Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo launched in Thailand

MANILA: The Toyota Fortuner has been one of the favourites among the crowd. It has received much success over years and is still going strong. And for the enthusiasts out there in Thailand, the Japanese automaker has come up with a refreshed version of the husky Fortuner. The vehicles that have come out from Toyota’s warehouse with the TRD tag have always been exciting, and so is the new Fortuner. The 2019 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo gets restyled exterior along with an updated interior.

For the starters, the latest SUV gets an enhanced brawny look thanks to the new front bumper that has been redesigned very effectively. It houses larger and lower intakes finished in black. The fog lights at the front bumper also get new housings along with chrome horizontal linings. More of chrome can be found on the jaw at the front. The roof and the ORVMs are also finished in black. The Fortuner TRD Sportivo rides on 20-inch alloys. The rear of the updated big boy has had minuscule of the changes. Apart from the new black chrome trunk garnish, the rear end looks just like the previous model.

The TRD flair is all around the new Fortuner. So, the interior gets its fair share as well. A red TRD push start button, seats wrapped in red-black leather with stitching done in red, and TRD illuminated door sills, all bring that touch of sportiness to the SUV. The infotainment system includes a 7-inch touchscreen along with an 11 speaker JBL sound system. You also get the unique TRD keys with the package. The centre console gets a touch of carbon fibre and the floors mats also feature TRD branding.

The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo continues to source its power from the 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV turbo-diesel motor. This engine is capable of making 177 PS of max power and a peak torque of 450 Nm. 4WD and 2WD options are still available. Special TRD shock absorbers and springs are also part of the updated package. The availability of the updated Fortuner TRD Sportivo will be announced soon by Toyota.
