Toyota GR Supra is now on Manila Sports Car Club’s list

MANILA: There will hardly be an automobile enthusiast who would not be familiar with the Manila Sports Car Club. A lot of young and old Filipinos crave to be a part of the club, however, the prerequisite of owning a sports car has let down far too many. Furthermore, even if you think you have got a sports car because your automaker markets it as a “sports car”, you might still not make it to the elite club.

The reason behind this is the list of cars that Manila Sports Car Club prepares. This list comprises of the vehicles that MSCC considers as sports cars. How much ever weird this is, if your car is not on the list, head back home. Interestingly, the previous-generation Toyota A80 Supra was not a part of the MSCC list. Shocking, but true.

Worry no more as the newest iteration of the Japanese icon, i.e., the Toyota A90 Supra has now been included by MSCC in its list of sports cars. “MSCC welcomes the very first Toyota Supra to make its list of sports cars. The old BMW Z4 has been in the list, so it was no surprise, given its genetic heritage and the two-seater platform, that the new Z4 will be in (which it is), but the Supra, with its history, is big news. So, there you are, no ifs or buts, and no “by-way-of-exception “ qualification, the 2020 BMW Z4 and Toyota Supra are squarely in — sports cars”, said MSCC in a recent post that was published on its official Facebook page.

With both the new models of the Toyota GR Supra and BMW Z4 now on the Manila Sports Car Club’s list, you can choose either of the two sports cars and get your membership of the club.
