Toyota Indonesia officially unveils 2019 Avanza

MANILA: Toyota has officially unveiled the 2019 Avanza for the Indonesian market just a few weeks after revealing its first look. It has been revealed along with the Supra and gets an all-new design which resembles the larger vans like Alphard, Voxy, and Vellfire. The 2019 Toyota Avanza gets a split design on the headlight and the front has a thick grille slat. A larger centre intake can be seen on the lower side of the bumper. Getting to the rear end, the L-shaped lights, similar to Veloz, have been provided.

There are some minor changes inside the cabin as well. The centre stack gets a new design with a bit style along with a new touchscreen. The instrument cluster is an all-new unit and has blue dials. The 2019 Toyota Avanza gets the same engine options as the ongoing model. However, the power output has been changed. While the 1.3-litre engine is capable of churning out up to 97 PS, the 1.5-litre gets a minor bump and produces 104 PS. The power is channelled to the wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox and there is also an optional four-speed automatic unit on offer.

In the Philippines, the Avanza also comes with two engine options, both of which are 4-cylinder Dual VVT-i inline DOHC units. The 1.3-litre engine can produce a maximum of 95 PS of power and a peak torque of 121 Nm. On the other hand, the bigger 1.5-litre engine can pump out 103 PS of power and a peak torque of 136 Nm. It can be expected that Toyota Motors Philippines will reveal the 2019 Avanza for the local market soon.
