WATCH: Ford teases thinly camouflaged next-gen Everest, coming in Q1 2022
MANILA: After the launch of the all-new Ranger, the all-new version of the pickup's midsize SUV sibling, the Everest, will soon be revealed in the first quarter of 2022.

When will Ford introduce the all-new Everest?
Ford said the next-gen Everest will be unveiled in the first quarter of 2022.What will be the notable features of the next-gen Everest?
Since the Everest SUV will be based on the Ranger, the former will likely to be powered by a range of turbodiesel engines, and suspension and interior tech upgrades."As the next-gen Everest enters the final testing phase of Ford’s global testing program, it’s been dressed to hide in plain sight," the carmaker said in a release. Ford Philippines also uploaded a teaser video of the upcoming model in its YouTube page.
The Everest prototype is wearing a digitized camouflage designed by Ford Australia exterior designer Lee Imrie. The camouflage, colored in gray, black, and white, hides the all-new Everest’s key visual design cues.
While the pattern helps to disguise some of the next-gen Everest’s key features, a #SeekYourExperience and QR code built into the pattern allows the public to know more about the SUV when they see it testing in public roads.
Meanwhile, Imrie described the all-new Everest's camouflage as thus: “We created an artistic pattern that hints at adventure... a series of rectangles tilted on a 45-degree angle that were inspired by mountain peaks.
“We make sure the vehicle design remains hidden by designing the camouflage pieces in isolation. This means when it’s applied to the vehicle it’s a completely random pattern.”
As it shares a platform with the new Ranger, the all-new Everest will likely share engine choices with the pickup. One engine is the three-liter V6 turbodiesel, which has been engineered specifically for the Ranger and for hauling heavy loads and off-roading.
The all-new Everest can possibly be powered by a single turbo two-liter inline four-cylinder diesel, or a bi-turbo two-liter inline four- diesel.
The single turbo is available in two performance levels and provides power, torque, and fuel economy, while the bi-turbo engine is tuned more for performance. A 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine is also in the pipeline.
In the Ranger, these engines are mated to a six- and 10-speed automatic, and a six-speed manual.
The all-new Everest could also benefit from the off-road enhancements Ford has done to the Ranger.
The Ranger's front wheels were pushed forward by 50 millimeters to achieve a better approach angle and outboard for more off-road flexibility. As for the rear suspension dampers, they have been pushed outboard of the frame rails, to provide the driver and passengers a smoother ride on and off the road.
