Suzuki registers 36% growth in motorcycles sales in Q1 2019

MANILA: In a recent statement, Suzuki Philippines has revealed its sales performance figures for the first quarter, i.e., Q1 of 2019. It hasn’t been too long since the departure of the former Suzuki Philippines president Hiroshi Suzuki, who handed over the responsibility to Akira Utsumi on 30 April 2019. The new president went on to work from day one of his appointment as the brand has been rolling from last four months.

With Suzuki Philippines working rigorously over the last few months, the hard work has resulted in a 36 % growth in the sales during Q1 2019. “This very impressive performance also demonstrates that Suzuki, which will be celebrating its 100th year in 2020, attained the biggest growth of 2% in Philippine market share among the four Japanese manufacturers compared to 2018. These results are brought about by the brand’s sales achievement in the Underbone and Scooter categories as a by-product of the brand’s integrated sales, marketing, and brand communication strategies,” said Suzuki Philippines.

The top contributors to the improved numbers were Suzuki Raider R150, Suzuki Skydrive Sport 125, and Suzuki Smash 115. Continuing its success in the country, the Suzuki Raider R150 accounted for 45 % market share in its segment. Moreover, ever since the launch of Skydrive 125 Fi in August 2018, there has been a 357 % growth in scooter sales for Suzuki.

The increase in sales is also because of the total Suzuki outlets going up to 2,801 from 1,900. Suzuki Philippines’s own 3S shops, Big Bike Centers, Moto Centers, and multi-brand shops come under this figure. With the morale and sales number high, we believe Suzuki Philippines will continue to rock the charts in the coming times.
