$12,000 can get your Toyota Supra equipped with a manual gearbox

MANILA: No matter how good the all-new second-generation Toyota Supra looks and performs, it won't be the car for a purist until it comes with a stick. Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada has himself cited that the Austria-made Japanese sports car will continue to roll out of the production line with its ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. So, will the purists and manual devotees miss out on experiencing the thrill that the new Supra serves? Well, the answer is, no, they won't.

The automakers have always been quite reluctant about changing their plans for a demand that is created by a tiny part of the population. However, that has never been the case with third party modifiers, tuners, and custom shops. You have guessed it correctly.

It is an aftermarket car expert, the European Auto Group from Texas that has come up with the solution for the purists who desire their Supra with a manual gearbox. Also, they are the same folks who equipped the Ferrari 430 Scuderia with a stick in the past. Coming back to the Supra, the American custom shop will take advantage of all-OEM BMW parts in converting your automatic Supra into a beautiful beast with a stick and a third pedal.

As you would have already guessed by the title of the story, the conversion will cost around $ 12,000 and includes various modifications starting from installing the manual gearbox to some delicate software adjustments and fabrication work.

The European Auto Group is likely to fit the BMW M2's manual gearbox on the Toyota Supra, however, we are yet to receive some steadfast information on this.
