2017 Isuzu D-Max now accompanied with X-Series in the Philippines

MANILA: We are about to complete the first month of the new year and every automaker is trying to expand its lineup with either a new launch or adding another variant. Isuzu Philippines has opted to introduce a new series for its prominent pickup, D-Max. Yes, Isuzu D-Max X-Series is launched in the Philippines. The new series grants the pickup a more aggressive, sportier and bolder look.

The company defines the new series as, “the perfect lifestyle vehicle for young and dynamic families.” The Philippines witnessed the 2017 D-Max in last September and within 4 months, the company has added another variant to the lineup to improve the pickup’s competency.

Isuzu D-Max X-Series Design

The X-Series has been finished with a gunmetal grille which is further accompanied with a red badge. Another differentiating feature of X-Series variant is its functional front skirt which is also highlighted by a red strip. At the rear, the cargo spoiler is the new addition while the tail lights units are kept intact. The new variant also gets 18-inch alloy wheels, which further improves the sturdiness of this pickup. The new X-Series will be available in three colour options - Cosmic Black, Venetian Red, and Splash White.

In the cabin, the seat upholstery now gets red accent highlighting, which accentuate the overall black theme. Special X-Series stitching is also seen on the backrests of the front seats. The other surfaces in the cabin are finished in piano black trim.

Under the hood, D-Max X-Series gets the 4JJI-TC (HI) turbodiesel engine. The 3.0-litre Common Rail Direct Injection engine is capable of delivering a maximum power output of 163 PS while the peak torque measures 380 Nm. The transmission duties include a five-speed manual and a five-speed automatic with sequential shift. The X-Series variant does not feature 4X4 mode but, Electronic Stability Control comes as standard.

To further delight the customers, Isuzu has partnered with sports performance brand, Under Armour. With this, customers now get a wide range of options to select Under Armour products according to their need. The options include sports polo, streaker or cool switch shirts, Golf towel, sports cap, sack pack and a duffel bag.

One can opt for Isuzu D-Max X-Series LS M/T variant at a price tag of Php 1,260,000 while the A/T variant is tagged at Php 1,330,000.
