2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 packs in 770 PS and 847 Nm

MANILA: Ever since the unveiling of the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500, the muscle car devotees just couldn’t stop talking about the sexy beast. Something else that kept the pundits craving was the undisclosed power and performance figures of the car. Wait no more though, as the readings are finally out!

From its 5.2-litre supercharged V8 motor, the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 gets a maximum power of 770 PS and a peak torque of 847 Nm. As a result, the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 is the most powerful street-legal Mustang-based car ever and rightly so. Ford and Shelby have even gone on to describe this mill as the “most power- and torque-dense supercharged production V8 in the world”.

While the top speed of the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 is electronically limited to 290 kmph, the 0 to 100 kmph readings still remain a mystery. Furthermore, if we compare the beautiful beast with its arch rivals, the Dodge SRT Hellcat Redeye still sits above the Mustang with its V8 throwing out over 800 PS of power and 958 Nm of peak torque. Another antagonist, the Chevy Camaro ZL1 that gets 650 PS and 881 Nm from its 6.2-litre V8, however, has been dismantled by the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 from the second position.

We want the Mustang-Shelby duo to unleash this muscle car on the US roads as soon as possible as we just can’t hold our horses from witnessing some crazy drag races between the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 and its counterparts. How about you? Are you as excited as we are?
