What does TDCi means in Ford models?

TDCi stands for Turbocharged Direct Common rail injection system. This type of turbocharger is used for aspiration and maximum air inhalation during intake stroke especially because when the car is at higher speeds, there is less time available for air intake.

Among the other key features that are included in this car are the following:

  • 8-way Power Adjust Driver and Front Passenger Seat with Manual Lumbar
  • HID Headlamps with Auto Levelling and LED Daytime Running Lights
  • Dual Electronic Automatic Temperature Control Air Conditioning System

Ford Everest dash

  • 8-inch touchscreen with SYNC 3 for hands-free phone calls, music system, satellite navigation, and climate control that is compatible with Ford Applink, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto
  • Active Park Assist
  • Built-in Navigation System
  • Keyless Entry and Push-Button Start
  • Panoramic Moonroof (For Titanium 4x4 only)
  • Terrain Management System

What are the safety features of the Ford Everest?

The Ford Everest specs sheet are packed with a lot of safety and driver assistance features that can ensure not just the comfort of you and your passengers but also your overall well-being while driving. Here are key safety features of this wondrous SUV:

Autonomous Emergency Braking

This was designed to help the driver on avoiding collision and reduce the risks when the driver gets distracted. The AEB feature can detect both pedestrians and other vehicles and it alerts you with audible and visual warning in the instrument cluster then pre-charges your brakes to increase brake-assist sensitivity, hence, provide a full-responsiveness when you hit the brakes.

BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert

The Blind Spot Information System employed in each Ford Everest unit helps in monitoring the traffic in your blind spot. It's very applicable especially when you are changing lanes as it provides indicator lights in your side mirrors if there is a vehicle in your blind spot. Meanwhile, The Cross-Traffic Alert is the one that can warn you if there is a traffic coming from either direction when reversing out of parking spots or the driveway.

Rear View Camera

One of the most prominent safety features in the Ford Everest is its Rear View Camera that allows you to have a full and clear vision of your car’s rear as if there is any obstruction like a pedestrian or another vehicle. Hence, this can prevent any accidents and mishandling especially when parking or the vehicle is at idle.

Lane Keeping System

This feature works when you start drifting from the center of your lane. The Lane Departure Warning will alert you while vibrating your steering wheel and if you continue to drift, the Lane Keeping System will gently apply torque to guide your back on your lane.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Working as a radar sensor system, the Adaptive Cruise Control feature aims to monitor the distance and speed of a vehicle ahead to adjust yours automatically. This feature will essentially slow the vehicle in order to restore a pre-sent distance and will also resume speed when the traffic clears. The good thing about this inclusion is that the driver can set the distance, speed, and time gap between vehicles and the car will do the rest of the work.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Every year, there are thousands of road accidents that are caused by improperly inflated tires. Hence, this feature by Ford ensures that your car’s tires are inflated adequately for your safety. This works by notifying the driver as if the air pressure in any of the vehicle’s tires is low.

Rain Sensing Wipers

A clear view of the road is very important when driving. This is why Ford has devised a new way of making sure that your vision is always clear. Through the rain-sensing wipers, it can easily detect moisture on the windscreen and it will be automatically activated to wipe off the obstruction.

Electronic Locking Rear Differential

This safety feature is ideal when your taking your vehicle off the road. If you need traction and grip especially on slippery and rugged terrains, Everest’s Electronic Locking Rear Differential can provide you with the full engine torque to both rear wheels, regardless if one is off the ground.

Hill Descent Control and Hill Launch Assist

Another unique safety feature of the Ford Everest is intended for conquering the tough slope. Through the Hill Descent Control, you can safely and steadily move your car downhill as it uses your brake system. Meanwhile, the Hill Launch Assist provides you with more time to accelerate by holding the brake for a few seconds. This will prevent your car from rolling backwards and avoid possible accidents.

Other standard safety features present in the Ford Everest are the seven airbags placed for the driver and front passenger, side front, side curtain (up to the third row), and the driver's knee. The 20-inch alloy wheels are also equipped with Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake Force Distribution. Reverse Parking Sensors and Front Parking Sensors are also present in this seven-seater SUV.

It is true that Ford has put a lot of effort on ensuring the safety of those who will drive their Everest — so that whether you speed up on the thoroughfares or conquer the other terrains, you can be sure that your car can keep you safe. But, even though these features are present already, it is still your duty as the driver to be mindful of your vicinity, to be alert at all times, and have a presence of mind while driving to ensure a safe journey.
