Honda introduces Honda HR-V Modulo X in Japan
MANILA: Honda Japan just introduced their newest offering for the upcoming year — a Modulo X variant to their popular Honda Vezel, or more commonly known as the HR-V. The Honda HR-V has undergone numerous facelifts with the first back in 2018 and the previous one just early this year. While the previous model offered four variants, the latest will only come in two: Touring and Hybrid. While the Hybrid trim will offer choices between a front- or all-wheel drive, manual transmission still won’t be making a comeback.
Touring Trim
The Touring trim has a 1.5 litre VTEC Turbo four-cylinder engine with 172 PS at 5,500 rpm and 220 Nm torque from 1,700 to 5,500 rpm, which is paired to a CVT driving the front wheels. It has a standard all-wheel drive, LED headlights, and leather seats. While prices for the Philippine market have not yet been released, reports so far have noted the Touring as the most expensive variant.
Hybrid Trim
Compared to the Touring, the Hybrid Trim uses a Sport Hybrid i-DCD system. This consists of an Atkinson-cycle 1.5 litre-VTEC engine with 132 PS and 156 Nm, an electric motor with 22 PS and 160 Nm, and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Standard Features
Both HR-V Modulo X variants sport the same dedicated front grille, aero bumpers, bumper garnishes, LED fog lamps, dual exhausts, and Modulo X badging. For those interested in the front-wheel option, you will receive 18-inch aluminium wheels. While those choosing the all-wheel drive will receive 17-inch units. Both vehicles will also have different springs and dampers for suspension.
Buyers can expect the cabin to sport an all-black theme. Seats are upholstered with Ultrasuede while the side bolsters are in leather. Sports seats are also available which feature a heating function fitted to the front. The Honda Sensing safety and driver assistance systems are present as is the standard in Honda vehicles.
The variants will be available in four exterior colors: Premium Crystal Blue Metallic, Premium Crystal Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Crystal Black Pearl. The Platinum White Pearl option is reported to be worth an additional few dollars more.
An official release date and price list for the Philippines have not yet been released, but we’ll be watching for updates so keep checking back for more information.
