Hyundai Staria is 2025 G20 Leaders’ Summit's official ride

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company has stepped up as a mobility partner of the recently concluded 2025 G20 Leaders’ Summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Specifically, the South Korean carmaker provided a total of 30 Staria multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) units as the official transport vehicles of the delegation staff from participating countries. 

Per Hyundai, the Staria was picked for the 2025 G20 Summit for its impactful exterior appearance, its generously spaced interior cabin, its wide array of advanced safety features, and its highly versatile cabin. 

“It is deeply meaningful for us to support the first-ever G20 Summit held in Africa with our vehicles,” Executive Vice President and Head of Global Policy Office of Hyundai Motor Group Ilbum Kim said. 

Prior to the G20 Summit, the car brand’s involvement in the international event was solidified via a memorandum of understanding with South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation.

Hyundai Staria in PH

In the Philippine market, the most affordable version of the Hyundai Staria is the Cargo variant, which retails at P1.56 million. The top-of-the-line Premium+ trim, on the other hand, is priced at P3.03 million. 

Propelling the Philippine-spec Hyundai Staria is a 2.2-liter CRDi engine paired with an eight-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. Higher-spec trims, such as the Premium+ and Premium+ Nine Seater, come standard with an all-wheel-drive system. 

At maximum, the Hyundai Staria has the following maximum output figures:

For ride quality and handling, the Hyundai Staria uses a front MacPherson strut and a rear five-link suspension system. Added weight capacity for the Cargo trim is ensured by a leaf spring rear suspension system. 

Inside the top-spec Premium+ is a seven-seater layout equipped with Nappa leather-upholstered seats. It also has power-adjustability/ventilation for the front and second rows, relaxation second row seats, and automatic climate controls. 

Likewise present inside the Hyundai Staria Premium+ is an eight-inch infotainment display and a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster. Smartphone connectivity is handled by wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while charging is done via USB ports and a wireless smartphone charging pad.
