Mazda CX-9 Sport Touring and Mazda 2 premium series launched

MANILA: The official distributor of Mazda cars in the Philippines, Berjaya Auto Pilipinas (BAP) has launched a new model of the popular CX-9 crossover named as the CX-9 Touring Sport and the limited series models of the Mazda2.

Unlike the CX-9 Grand Touring, the new CX-9 Sport Touring is an FWD (front-wheel drive) model. It comes with the 2.5-litre SkyActiv-G inline-four turbocharged engine that produces a max power of 230 PS and a peak torque of 420 Nm. The CX-9 Sport Touring has the capacity to accommodate a max of seven passengers just like its AWD (all-wheel drive) variant, the Grand Touring.

What sets the CX-9 Sport Touring apart from its sibling are components like non-adaptive LED headlamps and the 18-inch alloys dipped in dark silver. Some notable features that are offered as standard on the 2018 CX-9 Sport Touring include the MZD Connect entertainment system, powerful 6-speaker audio system, power front seats, and the leather upholstery.

Talking about the premium series models of the Mazda 2, there are two available including the Java and Crimson Editions. Both the editions are powered by a 1.5-litre SkyActiv-G in-line four engine that churns out 108 PS of max power and 139 Nm of peak torque. While the Java edition gets a new paint job called Titanium Flash, the Crimson model is treated with the brand’s signature colour Soul Red Crystal.

The special edition models get a shark fin antenna and scintillating interior which is dominated by leather. They also get red highlights over the body in addition to a unique body kit. Besides the two special editions, Mazda will soon be appending its lineup with the Katana Edition. This new edition will get a different Machine Gray treatment unlike the other two.

While the 2018 CX-9 Sport Touring is priced at Php 2,350,000, the pricing of the Mazda 2 premium series models hasn’t been revealed yet.

The limited edition Mazda 2 models, the new CX-9 Sport Touring and the recently launched 2018 MX-5 will be present at this year’s Mazda Zoom Fest that is scheduled to happen from June 15-17, 2018 at the Big Bear High Street at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

At Zoom Fest, the visitors will get a chance to experience Jinba Ittai concept and avail promotions offered by the company. Additionally, there will be Shell fuel vouchers and other discount certificates to be won on the purchase of a Mazda vehicle.
