MIAS 2026: All-new Kia EV5 in 7 photos

MANILA: Kia Motor Philippines, under the stewardship of ACMobility, has rolled out the all-new EV5 electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). 

Touted as the “logical” entry point to electrified mobility, the nameplate offers emissions-free driving while retaining the classic bulk and aesthetics of a classic SUV — albeit with some modern appointments.

Here are some of its notable features: 

Electric powertrain 

Under the hood of the Kia EV5 is an electric motor accompanied by either a 64.2 kilowatt-hour (kWh) or an 88.1 kWh battery — depending on the variant. 

The said setup produces some 215 horsepower and 310 Newton meters of torque. 

Depending on the model, it will have an estimated driving range that is either 400 kilometers (km) or 550 km. 

Juicing up the battery to 100 percent can be done in as fast as 38 minutes with a direct current charger. Conversely, it is compatible with an alternate current home charger. 

Bold, modern exterior 

Outside, the Kia EV5 is fitted with a slew of modern exterior appointments with bold and modern features. 

At the fore is the “Digital Tiger Face” fascia that is flanked by LED illumination, dubbed “Star Map LED Lighting.” 

The Kia EV5 rides on modern-looking 18-inch alloy wheels — with a triangular design — shod in 225/60-series tires. 

Its rear end gets a roof-mounted spoiler, LED lights that echo the design language of what is featured at the front, an automatic tailgate, for a sleek and aerodynamic profile. 

Tech-savvy interior 

Inside, the Kia EV5 also retains classic SUV proportions with plenty of modern amenities. 

The range-topping model gets leather upholstery with a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Past it is a wide panoramic display for seamless information delivery, consisting of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a similarly-sized infotainment system with touch-type controls, and a 5.3-inch air conditioning control monitor. 

Smartphone integration can be done by way of wireless connectivity for both Android and Apple-powered devices. 

It has flexible storage, pillar-mounted airconditioning vents, and a spacious boot. 

Variants, pricing 

The all-new Kia EV5 is offered in two trims: GL and GLS. They are priced at P2.298 million and P2.698 million, respectively.
