Suzuki PH to launch 5-door Jimny this Jan.

MANILA: Suzuki Philippines (SPH) has confirmed the introduction of the five-door Jimny in the local market.

Based on the email invitation sent to Zigwheels Philippines, the soon-to-be-added model’s formal launch will be on January 25.

According to the Japanese automaker’s distributor in the country, the event will serve as a “ground-breaking celebration of innovation and excellence.”

As seen in the invite, the nameplate’s five door option comes in a rich crimson hue with black roof, which could possibly be its hero color.

Earlier, a source shared that the five-door Suzuki Jimny could likely be equipped with a K15B 1.5-liter engine — the same mill found in the three-door trim.

Further, Philippine-market five-door Suzuki Jimny could likely be outfitted with ventilated disc brakes instead of solid disc brakes that are outfitted in the already-available three-door variation.

While the source shared the five-door offering will wear similar exterior appointments as with the three-door version, the forthcoming model will sport a grille with chrome accents as well as power-folding side mirrors.

Moreover, the Suzuki Jimny’s five-door option will likely be offered in three variations namely GL MT, GLX AT, and GLX AT (two-tone). Pricing is still yet to be established, but it could range from P1.558 million to P1.708 million.
