Toyota PH sets RAV4 launch for March

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), has announced that it will be launching the next-generation RAV4 next month. 

The official local introduction of the heavily revamped hybrid crossover was shared by Toyota’s local arm through its official social media pages, although an exact date is yet to be disclosed.

As Zigwheels Philippines previously reported, the upcoming Toyota RAV4 is the sixth-gen version, which was introduced in Japan last December 2025. This means that the next-gen model is entering the Philippines a mere three months after its global debut - a quick turnaround for Toyota.

Additionally, TMP has already laid the groundwork for the next-gen RAV4, as it is already recognized by the Department of Energy (DOE) as a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). It was also included in the company’s list of planned launches for 2026 alongside the Urban Cruiser, LC300 HEV, Land Cruiser FJ, and next-gen Hilux. 

Moreover, TMP fueled up the proverbial hype train for the upcoming RAV4 ahead of its launch by giving one away as a “hole-in-one” prize at the recently concluded 54th Golden Tee held at the Manila Golf and Country Club. 

TMP’s willingness to give away a RAV4 could be another clue that stocks of next-gen ride have already entered the country en masse. There’s also the fact that TMP’s announcement is already calling for those interested in the vehicle to visit their nearest Toyota dealerships.

Upcoming Toyota RAV4: specs, features

As reported previously, the next-gen Toyota RAV4 will have two trims. It will be available as the LTD and the more outdoor-oriented ADV.

Specific to the ADV are tougher-looking design elements, more ground clearance, and a slightly larger body overall.

Specifically, the ADV is 20mm long and 25mm wider than the standard LTD. 

With regard to its powertrain, the data released by DOE wasn’t comprehensive, but it did state that the vehicle uses a continuously variable transmission (CVT), a 2.5-liter internal combustion engine, and a front-wheel-drive (FWD) layout. 

In Japan, the next-gen Toyota RAV4 can produce up to 320 horsepower. It likewise has an all-electric range of 150 kilometers (km). 

Again, no features list for the local model was revealed as of this writing, but the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) model has the following:

• 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster
• Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• 4.0 Toyota Safety Sense
• Arene software
