TVS updates iQube for PH market, gets lower price tag

MANILA: The Philippine-retailed TVS iQube received its mid-cycle refresh, some three years after the model debuted locally.

Unveiled at Wheeltek’s 50th Anniversary Exhibition over the weekend, the electric scooter — which will compete against the likes of the VinFast Evo — has received notable updates and a lower price tag.

Here’s what the full-electric two-wheeler, which has surpassed the one-million global sales milestone, offers to the market.

Motorcycle specifications

Powering the TVS iQube is a hub-mounted electric motor— which is at par with 125 cubic-centimeter scooters—that can deliver the following figures:

Peak torque (in Newton-meters)	140

This allows riders to go from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour (kph) in 4.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 82 kph.

Additionally, the motorcycle rides on 12-inch tubeless tires and boasts two ride modes: Power and Eco.

The mill gets its power from up to two non-swappable 3.5-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery packs, providing a real-world range of 115 kilometers (km)—an improvement from the previous version’s 100 kms. This energy bank has IP67-rated water-proofing and a battery management system-controlled system.

Using its 950-watt portable charger, the electric motorcycle can be juiced up from 0-80 percent in less than three hours.

The new TVS iQube offers 32 liters of boot space for its underseat storage.

Other amenities that can be found in the emissions-free motorcycle are:

• Pillion back rest
• Suspension system made up of Duplex tubular frame (front) and hydraulic twin tube shock absorbers

Available in Mercury Grey and Starlight Blue (new) tones, the introductory price of the new TVS iQube is P99,800. This motorcycle is packaged with a battery and motor warranty of five years or 60,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
