2015 Ford Everest unveiled at IIMS

Manila: Finally, the much awaited Ford Everest has been revealed to the world at the ongoing Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS). Much like its name, the all-new Everest is packed with top-notch features, both on the safety and luxury front. Ford launched its new SUV segment yesterday, 19th Aug, in the midst of other ongoing launches. Everest has been long dominating the Asian market, and now with its new SUV, Ford dreams to achieve greater market scale.

The upgraded model is accompanied by fresh exterior looks, Everest now features a more curvaceous outer body as compared to its ongoing boxy structure. A bold chrome grille followed by projector headlamps, muscular looking bumper with great character lines, prominent wheel arches, chrome covered door handles and exterior mirror, re-styled horizontal tail light and a large chrome bar featured on tailgate, all forms a part of its new design language.

The cabin area now looks more inviting and holds some great hi-tech features like Terrain Management System, newly developed Ford SYNC2 information system coupled to an 8-inch touchscreen display. Taking care of your entertainment is a 9-speaker audio system that is accompanied by sub-woofer. The New Everest displays an airy cabin space and comes with a power-folding rear seat.

In terms of dimensions, the all-new Ford measures 4,893 mm long, 1,862 mm wide and 1,837 mm high. Ground clearance and wheelbase have also witnessed some up-gradations and now measures 225mm and 2,850 mm respectively.

Two engine options are on the cards for the all-new Everest, a 2.2L four-cylinder diesel engine, and a 3.2L five cylinder engine diesel engine. Both the variants are available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. The former engine generates 158 hp of power and 385 Nm of torque, while, the latter variant is capable of producing 197 hp of power and 470 Nm of torque.
