Hongqi PH posts high fuel-efficiency numbers at 2025 DOE-Petron Eco Run

MANILA: Hongqi Philippines has posted high fuel efficiency numbers at the 2025 Department of Energy-Petron Eco Run.

After covering the 154.5-kilometer route along the stretch of Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway on September 24, 2025, the brand’s fielded models — namely Hongqi EHS7, EH7, EHS9 — all got fuel mileage ratings not lower than 40.57 kilometers per liter of gasoline equivalent (km/lge).

Below are the results of the Hongqi vehicles that took part in the aforementioned activity.

The EvoXTerra-steered firm noted that the vehicles that participated in the economy run were driven to reflect typical highway behavior—accelerating to overtake slower traffic at 100 kilometers per hour (kph) before returning to cruising speed of 80 kph.

To note, both the Hongqi EHS7 Flagship AWD midsize sport utility vehicle (SUV) and EH7 Flagship AWD midsize sedan has the capability to dish out 610 horsepower and 756 Newton-meters (Nm)of torque, while the EHS9 Flagship AWD full-size SUV delivers 544 hp and 750 Nm. “These figures highlight Hongqi’s ability to balance powerful dual-motor all-wheel-drive performance with efficient energy consumption,” the company claimed.

“The DOE Eco Run results reaffirm Hongqi’s commitment to delivering electric vehicles that combine exceptional performance with real-world efficiency,” Hongqi Philippines President Rashid Delgado was quoted as saying.

“Hongqi’s BEVs demonstrate that high performance and efficiency can go hand in hand. From our dual-motor AWD models to single-motor RWD vehicles, each achieves strong power and notable energy efficiency, reflecting our commitment to engineering excellence and a refined driving experience across the entire lineup,” he added.

Both trims have peak churns of 339 hp and 450 Nm — underscoring on efficiency across its EV lineup, regardless of drivetrain configuration.
