Suzuki Swift Sport Extreme concept unveiled at the Thai Motor Show

MANILA: Suzuki just debuted the Suzuki Sport Extreme concept and it is absolutely bonkers!

Suzuki Swift Sport Extreme

Currently displayed at the Thai Motor Show, the new lower and wider Suzuki hatchback, as the name suggests, takes an extreme approach at the Swift. It features a redesigned front façade that has angular headlights and bold front grille that makes up for an angry-looking face, a bold front splitter, and more scoops on the hood that you thought are possible.

At the side are contrasting coloured fenders and matching side skirts with red pinstripe for accent. While at the back, is a shark’s fin antenna, a spoiler, a couple of taillights that overlaps a bit to the side, and a rear apron with mini diffuser.

Also, at the bottom part of the rear are strange-looking square exhaust exits and two spoilers. All of which adds to the rally car impression that the designer wants to achieve.

Swift Sport Extreme exterior

Besides what we can see from the outside, Suzuki has not yet revealed any tech specs sheet for the Suzuki Swift Sport Extreme concept. The current Suzuki Swift Sport is powered by a 1.4-liter K14C Boosterjet engine that can churn 138 Hp of power at 5,500 rpm and 230 Nm of peak torque at 2,500 to 3,000 rpm.

However, Suzuki just recently announced a new and more powerful 48-Volt self-charging hybrid powertrains will be fitted to the Swift Sport, Vitara, and S-Cross models.

Ergo, the new Sport Extreme concept may be fitted with this new more potent powertrain to match its sporty look. Besides, the new powertrain is said to be more fuel-efficient, has a greater level of torque, and has lower CO2 emission.

Either that or the new Suzuki K14D Boosterjet petrol engine that is currently in the works and might be debuted together with the hybrid system.

We’ll just have to wait and see if the new Suzuki Swift Sport Extreme concept will be part of the unveiling of the hybrid powertrain that will be released in March 2020 together with the new K14D Boosterjet petrol engine.
