Toyota C-HR - Know More About The New Japanese Sub-Compact Crossover

MANILA: Seems like Toyota is all set to snatch its no. 1 position in the global automotive market back from the German giant Volkswagen. Well, at least we think so and Toyota has given us a 'sub-compact' reason to claim this statement. With a dashing and power-packed fleet which is ruling the hearts and roads of its buyers across the geographies, Toyota is all set to make an addition in it which can bring sweat on the faces and threat in the hearts of its rivals. You might remember the happenings of recently held 86th Geneva International Motor Show where all the renowned automakers marked their attendance with their updated fleet and new concepts. If not, let us remind you that this was the place where Peugeot rolled out its Traveller i-Lab concept, Ferrari displayed the absolutely heart throbbing GTC4Lusso, Aston Martin launched its stunning DB11, Volkswagen revealed the T-Cross Breeze concept and Toyota brought its first sub-compact crossover C-HR on the floor.

Well, Toyota looked really excited and hopeful whenever its C-HR has been mentioned and during Geneva International Motor Show 2016, they showed its production model face and gave a hint of putting this stylish crossover into production soon to make it available by early 2017. Well, the launch and arrival dates are yet to be confirmed by the Japanese manufacturer but we loved the way it is floating the details about this crossover and raising the curiosity. Aggressive Styling

Throw a look at this dynamic machine and even you would agree that the manufacturer has again shown its passion for its creations. Every element, every styling cue depicts that this drive is made for people who love to flaunt their style statement with their stylish cars. The contoured bonnet flowing over the wide and pronounced fenders give it a perfect poise of sporty vehicle. The diamond-patterned front grille with LED front headlamps creates a dramatic face for this Toyota drive. The drive has been given a coupe-like appearance with front door handles as any standard drive and the rear ones hidden behind the C-pillars. The floating roof effect further accentuates this coupe styling.

Dramatic Cabin

Well, this sporty sub-compact carries enough of drama in and out. With ample sporty aspects at the exterior, this drive raises the expectations from the cabin and satisfies them with its equally sporty and comforting features. The interior trim truly compliments the exterior with high-quality material. This spacious cabin not only has an ergonomic layout to fit 5 adults with bets comfort but also an intelligently designed dash which is packed keeping the comfort of the driver in mind. The interior flaunts signature blue accents and leather trim to add more sportiness to it. Merging the styling with comfort and convenience, this first Toyota sub-compact crossover has the latest Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system, automatic air conditioning facility and sporty ambient lighting. An 8-inch touchscreen right in the middle if the dashboard is plotted for navigation. The JBL audio facility with 9 speakers, heated front seats and rear privacy glass are some of the other standard features of this new Toyota drive.

The interior is highly influenced by the new diamond-inspired shape of the car. This interior is made available in 3 finishes – Nappa leather which is used for all the touch surfaces, faux leather used at the background surfaces and Royal leather wrapped on all the switch gears. With this, the company has given a choice in the cabin color – Black/Brown, dark Gray and Black/Blue.

Action-Packed Engines

The new addition in the Toyota fleet, Toyota C-HR, will arrive with a choice of 3 engines. Surely the Japanese giant has played smartly in this segment by offering a choice between hybrid, naturally aspirated and a turbocharged engine to its prospective customers with the engine capacities revealed to 1.8-litre, 2.0-litre and 1.2-litre respectively. This sub-compact drive will be made available in 2WD and all-wheel drive layouts with 6-speed manual or CVT gearboxes respectively. The company is yet to reveal further specs in terms of power and torque numbers of these engines but trusting upon the Toyota cutting-edge technology, surely you will see some real action on the roads with these 3 engines.

Toyota has already revealed that this sub-compact crossover is produced at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey (TMMT) unit situated in Sakarya. However, the company has also stated that the hybrid engine will not be manufactured at this location and is built at the Toyota Manufacturing unit at Deeside, Wales, UK. Well, there's still lots to reveal about the new C-HR from the manufacturer's camp including the earlier claimed debut this year and arrival in January 2017. But one thing is sure, in the Philippines automotive market, this drive will be a big competition for Honda HR-V and Nissan Juke in its segment.
