WATCH: Ford to bring ‘Very Gay Raptor' to Goodwood

MANILA: Ford will show its support for the LGBTQ+ community at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this week, bringing along the "Very Gay Raptor" and the next-gen Ranger Raptor.

The participation of "Very Gay Raptor" at the festival will be used to foster important discussions aimed at eliminating discrimination in the automotive industry and beyond. Ford will present live sessions of its new "Tough Talks" series from the truck bed of the "Very Gay Raptor" at Goodwood, hosted by Welsh rugby legend Gareth Thomas, the first openly gay rugby union player.

The sessions will feature guests such as racing driver Abbie Eaton, comedian Catherine Bohart, and Lord March, the son of the Duke of Richmond, who founded the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival.

In response to a negative comment on social media, Ford created the "Very Gay Raptor" in 2021, portraying its most badass nameplate in gleaming gold with rainbow graphics. Because of the positive response online, the company decided to make it a reality, and has been using it to help eliminate discrimination ever since.

In a video teasing the appearance of the "Very Gay Raptor" and next-gen Ranger Raptor at the event, both vehicles drive over mud-covered off-road trails, at times taking different paths, facing off, but showcasing their equally outstanding and rugged qualities regardless of their differing identities.

The next-gen Ranger Raptor will make its European dynamic debut at Goodwood, facing the demanding off-road track in between runs up the famous hill. It is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that produces 288ps and 491Nm of torque.
