Zigwheels PH's March 2025 wrap-up

MANILA: March 2025 saw a lot of significant developments in the Philippine automotive market. 

During the said month, a number of brands brought in updated rides, with one being the next-generation model of a popular sports utility vehicle (SUV). A popular scooter also received an updated version, while a motorcycle brand came back into the country after a long absence. Additionally, a number of locally present car brands opened several dealerships. 

So, to help our readers catch up with the latest developments in the Philippine automotive industry, here’s Zigwheels Philippines’ wrap-up for March. 

Launches

New Honda PH lineup

Honda Philippines Incorporated (HPI) has launched a total of six new motorcycles at the 2025 Inside Racing Bikefest. 

The brand’s lineup of new offerings includes: 

• CBR150R
• XR150L
• CRF300L
• CRF300 Rally
• CRF250RX
• CRF250R

Next-gen Nissan Patrol launch

Nissan Philippines has officially brought in the next-generation Patrol. As of its local launch, the all-new SUV retails at P5.385 million. It boasts a new exterior design, plenty of upgraded features, and a beefy 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. 

At maximum, the said V6 mill can generate up to 425 horsepower (hp) and 700 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.

All-new Yamaha Nmax 

Yamaha Philippines has turned over the initial 155 units of the all-new Nmax to owners. The aforementioned comes after opening the reservation books for the updated ride. 

With a price starting at P155,900, the updated ride boasts improved fuel economy and sharper acceleration via its two ride modes. It also has the Yamaha Electric continuously variant transmission and a 155-cubic-centimeter (cc), single overhead cam, four stroke engine. 

At maximum, the all-new Yamaha Nmax has the following torque and power outputs:

Maximum output (in horsepower)	15
Maximum torque (in Newton-meters)	14.2

Zontes returns to PH

Zontes has re-entered the Philippine market under Bristol Motorcycles. It entered the market with five models, which include: 

• 400E
• 400D
• 400G
• 400M
• 703F

As hinted by their names, the 400 series are all 400 cc maxi-scooters. The 703F, on the other hand, is a 699 cc adventure bike that can produce up to 97 hp.

BYD Shark 6 DMO local introduction

BYD Cars Philippines has brought in the all-new Shark 6 dual-mode off-road (DMO). Pricing for the all-new plug-in hybrid truck starts at P2.098 million, and it boasts a peppy powertrain capable of outputting up to 429 hp and 650 Nm of torque.

Refreshed Toyota GR Yaris, GR Supra MT launch

Toyota Motor Philippines has launched the manual version of the Gazoo Racing (GR) Supra and the updated GR Yaris. 

Under the hood of the new GR Supra is the same engine, but it was provided with a six-speed manual transmission version. Pricing for the model starts at P5.552 million, the same as the automatic version. Read more about the Toyota GR Supra MT here.

Li Auto PH launch

Li Auto officially entered the Philippine market via HomeAuto Incorporated. For its initial lineup of cars, the marque brought in the L7 and L9 SUVs, which are both premium plug-in hybrids filled to the brim with creature comforts.

Dealership openings

GAC BGC 

 GAC (Guangzhou Automobile Group Company Limited) Motor Philippines, under the management of Astara Philippines, has inaugurated its new outlet in Bonifacio Global City. 

The said outlet is owned and managed by The Autohub Group of Companies. In total, its showroom can fit up to six vehicles, and it has four service bays as well.

JAC (Jianghuai Automobile Company Limited) Philippines, under the management of Astara, has opened its new dealership located along Quezon Avenue. 

It boasts a spacious service area and a showroom that can fit four to five vehicles.

Omoda, Jaecoo Sta. Rosa

Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines have opened a new joint dealership in Santa Rosa, Laguna. 

The new outlet is managed by EV Tech Motors Enterprises Corporation, and apart from boasting a roomy showroom, it can likewise provide spare parts and services to clients.

Jetour Auto Taytay, Quezon Avenue

Jetour Auto Philippines Incorporated (JAPI) inaugurated two new dealerships in March 2025. One is located in Taytay, Rizal, while the other one is situated along Quezon Avenue. 

The new Jetour Taytay showroom is operated by JAPI itself, and it boasts a floor area of 130 square meters. For folks who want to visit the said dealership, it is located within the CW Compound along Manila East Road in Barangay Dolores, Taytay.

The newly inaugurated Jetour Quezon Avenue, on the other hand, is a 4,000-square-meter facility with a spacious showroom that can display 10-12 vehicles.

Upcoming models

Per homologation papers released by the Land Transportation Office, Zigwheels Philippines was able to determine a list of possible upcoming cars for the local market. Here are the said models:

Additionally, JAC Philippines has already previewed the upcoming T9, which is set to shake up the local mid-size pickup truck market segment.

Nissan, on the other hand, has already begun exporting left-hand-drive examples of the Magnite, and the Philippines could be next in line to receive the said crossover. 

Moreover, Li Auto Philippines’ website likewise hinted at the future local launch of the Mega - a minivan with over 710 kilometers of range.

Suzuki supports 2025 Jimnyfest

Suzuki Philippines Incorporated has supported the three-day-long 2025 Jimnyfest. The said event was primarily organized by The Jimny Hub, and it saw the attendance of more than 180 Jimny units.
